I think a missed opportunity was Bjorn Johnsen. Scored 2 goals the other day

Tyler Adams is out due to injury (from bundesliga season). Reggie Cannon to replace I believe, which is hysterical because it truly does mean that Tyler Adams is just an international rightback then. Oh god the humanity (runs away into forest crying).

He was signed by Reading in 2014. Had two appearances for them in 14-15. Loaned out to a team in the National League (barely professional) in 15-16. Back to Reading in 16-17, where he didn't have an appearance. Then to Telstar, then to Fortuna, now back to Reading. 5 years later, he's back where he started.

And let's be honest here...Jozy left Europe because MLS paid him the most. You are kidding yourself if you don't think he could have caught on with another club in Europe.

Lol Jozy was called the worst striker in Premier League history by the Daily Mail.
He had 3 goals in 3 yrs in 70 games in England lol.
I'm kidding myself then because I don't recall another Premier League club making Jozy an offer after Sunderland no longer wanted him lol.

At 25, Jozy hit rock bottom and became a permanent MLS player at what you would think is the prime of his career. Jozy is back where he started, playing below Championship level and will never play meaningful club ball again.

Nova has every chance at 23 to make an impact in a better league than Jozy ever has and have a much more accomplished club career.

Oh boy. Now our midfield is really effed. Adams being out is cause for concern unless Berhalter goes to midfield 4-3-3 like this:

--Pulisic--
McKennie--Bradley--

Idk man about Jozy, the biggest club in Mexico wanted him not too long ago.. last semester to be exact. America has to be bigger than some English clubs.

I agree in McKennie and Bradley but I think I prefer Holmes ahead of them with Pulisic out wide (I think I'll take a chance on Boyd as the other wide player).

I hear ya, but I think a Pulisic could be very influential in that set up. A la like Donovan when Donovan was underneath a main striker. Or like Deuce.

It could work well to play him centrally, I just see Concacaf teams trying to suffocate Pulisic in the center of the pitch as they park the bus. That said I am not sure they will be successful. Personally, I like the idea of letting Pulisic play the same position for club and country. I assume Chelsea will use him wide but we'll see.

I am curious have out wide if Berhalter were to go with your three man midfield? Boyd and Arriola or would you play Holmes wide?

I don't feel good about any of this but I think this would be my starting 11 given the current 23 man roster.

--- Jozy ---
-Pulisic-Holmes-Boyd-
-McKennie-Bradley-
-Ream-Long-Miazga-Lima-
---Steffen---

That back four scares the hell out of me.

Really upset about Adams injury but I was also not looking forward to being really annoyed/disappointed when he was depolyed at RB and not 6... now it really has to be michael bradley with this current lineup... what a crap fest...

I think it's safe to say Long wont be starting, he's not fit and was horrible in the friendly.

Going with the 4141 since that seems his preferred...

This is what I expect to see:

-------- Jozy ----------
-Arriola-Pulisic--McKennie-Boyd-
-------Bradley---------
-Ream-Miazga-Zimmerman-Lima-
--------Steffen---------

Lewis and Holmes will be the subs

I know Pulisic will play centrally but we all know CONCAF has solid bunker defenses that always cause USA issues and I think the best way to break those down is with Pulisic wide, I'd rather see Holmes start and Puli wide in place of Arriola but I know there is no chance of that happening.

Can those 2 still play? They can walk up and down the pitch for all I care.
If you don't love it, leave it, USA #1
