It's just a matter of time. He has a great mentality...very mature with a high soccer IQ.

He's a finisher with a well rounded skill set. The perfect compliment to combo with Pulisic. They are the same level quality...cut out of the same fabric. We need to find a couple more attackers at this level , then we'll make some noise.

I've said it before he reminds me of the junior version of Robbie Keane...shifty pure finisher with a high end ability to read the game.

Still counting the minutes until we see Puli under Sargent....then finding an ACM with the talent and mentally to hang with these two...Identifying players that intuitively read and play at a quick tempo.

Two appearances, two goals
This was his third appearance.

Decent finish, nice composure to hit first time. The assist to set him up was pretty good too.

Hopefully this helps propel him into a consistent name in the 18 for Bremen. Not expecting anything spectacular this year, but if he can work his way into the consistent first ST off the bench role by the end of this season then thats a success and gives him solid footing moving forward.

1 goal under Bobby Wood. I have a feeling we will see much more of him in the second half of the season. Definitely will see him in quite a few starting 11.

he started that play as well and had the awareness to make that run. You can't use the qualifier "if he's the first ST off the bench". They have both eggesteins, Pizarro and kruse. Just to make the team and play and score is enough right now. But as @2tone said, there is more to come. Myself and @chrisBP have been on the train hop aboard @lilshmike... lose the worry and fear and enjoy the ride.

Not sure what you mean by qualifier. First off the bench at a big club in a top European League is quite the accomplishment.

Shaqiri is first off the bench. Lacazette is first off the bench. Rashford has been first off the bench. That's a good thing, and considering hes 18, that's a positive position to be in.

What I mean is... say he continues to be 2nd or 3rd striker off the bench but plays in 10-15 more games and has a few more goals. That would be good even though he doesn't meet your qualification of first ST off the bench. His coach says 5 appearances would be a good season FYI.

I think he is going to lead the line on merit in the march friendlies. Even for a quality squad like Bremen, Sargent has qualities most other players don't. Such a varied player always with his head up. Nothing we've seen so far is discouraging. He's a true #9.

And now his coach is saying Sargent has taken a "step forward" as Kohfeldt put it. Seems like Sargent is going to get more time than he has been, which has been a considerable amount. I think he may get a start in the next 2-3 games. It's happening again just like it did with Pulisic, where once they make it to the first team they don't come out of the first team. Like I said a few weeks ago, Sargent will lead the line in a 4-2-3-1 for Berhalter on merit in the March friendlies.

Yeah. He could very well be the starting striker in the Gold Cup. Won't be surprised if he ends this year with Bremen close to double digit goals.

While he has the talent to be the starting striker by this summers Gold Cup, it's yet to be seen how he'll fit/work in Berhalter's style/system. Young players in particular sometimes need more time to learn what a new manager expects and grasp their roll. We'll have to wait to see how quickly he can pick-up the style when the March friendlies roll around.

We've effed up royally if we hired a manager whose system cannot easily/readily accommodate one of the brightest young talents in the pool.
