Bremens coach Kohfeldt says that Sargent has to earn his minutes in a competition vs Max Kruse and Claudio Pizarro. Today he may get in there, and if he does I expect him to take his chance. Sargent, trying to earn his spot for one of the top German teams would be really impressive at his young age. Not many strikers his age and profile can force themselves into the lineup at a club in a top league doing so well (look at Weah and his non minutes played recently), but I think he can outperform Pizarro (the legend himself, old now) with his all action style, and the technical Max Kruse by showing the coach his dynamism. It's just one cup game but many an American has made a poor first impression abroad (confirming Euro bias against Americans)... I bet on Sargent to rise to the occasion and succeed where many others have not.

Seeing that he didn't make the bench today, I'd expect he probably heads back to the U23's for some more PT. If/when Bremen falls down the table, he might have a better chance.

I have a feeling he will get spot minutes in the second half of the season and might get a start or two towards the end of the season.

The final stretch of the English league season is upon us, with several Americans on the verge of relegation with their teams.
