Saw this on the Quakes site. Scheduled games at the camp.

Jan 5 U17 v U18
Jan 5 U19 v U20

Jan 6 U16 v Clearwater

Jan 8 U16 v U17

Jan 10 U17 v IMG Academy U19
Jan 10 U20 v TBD

Quake Homegrown, just turned 16 year old Jacob Akanyirige (lefty CB) is playing up two years with the U18s

Anybody have any news for the camp games....the games are open to the public...nothing yet on the Ussoccer site.

Fascinating to play one another. Its like a mini league where it would be embarressing if the u20 or u19 dont win. It should be as lopsided as la liga

Yeah, it is pretty cool.

Imo, it is about identifying a player(s) that can out compete another player a level up when they assess them head to head over 10 days of training. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the guys have the opportunity to play up and permanently change teams

Everybody develops at different rates and some guys plateau...and it is a one time event, a snapshot, but you can grade and rank the groups and positions.

It should be an annual camp going forward.

Thanks coverby.

I'm shocked there isn't more coverage on the camp. Maybe there will be a summary when it wraps up.

There is a lot interest from the hardcore fans and no info from any of the usual insiders like BShred or Ives...really weird considering everybody in soccer sees the camp as huge positive. You would think USSF would really play this up.

And the camp games are open to the public...and still crickets...unbelievable.

Yeah I dunno why it's hush hush but maybe cuz it's new. As much as I hate the posters on the site, big soccer seems to have good information on our youth when it's not analysis.

Yeah, already went there. They have thread for but nothing much in it. I agree, probably the best board, usually some inside stuff, but slim pickens...weird.

Thanks Speed Elf, great to see some coverage.

I read on another site that U16 Ian Hoffman was turning heads when they moved him to RB. My first thought was , great, we have an endless supply of RBs and slim pickens at LB.

What the hell do we have in place to convert righties or develop LBs, other than telling them they need to work on their left foot?

From the info available, the camp was a huge success...a great bonding experience and a ton of impressive talent.

Amon's high end international speed was blowing minds...fast track potential to the nats.

The young soccer careers of Rubio Rubin and Brady Scott are headed in completely opposite directions.
