Kekuta Manneh (Columbus Crew) is on trial w Union Berlin (in 2.Bundesliga). Available on a free transfer.

Would be a great move. Get out of MLS, he's only 22 yo.

He's one of my 4 guys I wanted slotted as wingers for US (Amon, Manneh, Lleget, and BLennon).

I would not be surprised to see u 18 players sign contracts that end b/w their 18th and 20th birthday like EPB. I have seen that Adams may have similar deal

If that's true, it's indicative of the fact that MLS is run by morons. Instead of selling players and getting something, they are now going to routinely lose players direct to Europe. Plus, young players are clearly getting the signal that most MLS teams (except maybe Dallas and RBNY) are not willing to develop and then sell youth players.

The Revolution had a hyped academy player (Justin Rennicks). He went on trial with Frankfurt last winter (without permission, ostensibly because the Revs would've declined it) and then they suspended him for the Spring... stunting his development. Then they didn't offer him a contract, so he went to college (Indiana). I'm guessing he'd rather eat dirt than play for the Revs now, so he's either going to a) never amount to anything; or b) leave directly for Europe. Mind you, the kid won player of the year for the Revs academy 3 years in a row. So this is how an MLS team is handling its best prospect.

The incentives are all misaligned. MLS teams get to permanently have rights to a player if he was in the academy, which is BS. Those rights should expire after 1-2 years. Also, players have no incentive to sign with MLS if they think that are going to a) not play; and b) not have a chance to get sold to Europe.

I feel like every good 16 year old in the US probably watched EPB get ignored at SKC and then signed by ManCity and thought "screw MLS, I'll take my chances elsewhere." I mean that's why Josh Sargent is basically just playing soccer in his backyard for 9 months waiting to turn 18. What an embarrassing indictment of MLS development...

PS - go Kekuta!

I am really looking forward to seeing how the midfield develops over the next couple years. My hope is that some of our options pan out enough to prevent teams from Keying in on Pulisic. If we get 3 or 4 of these guys to become consistent I'll be very pleased.

Saief, Green, Arriola, Manneh, Gooch, Amon,

I'd like to see someone step up (Scott, Parks, etc...) to enable Pulisic to shift to one of the wings. I think a 4-1-4-1, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 formation is looking best suited for our emerging players, and having 2 wide attackers with speed, creativity, technical & tactical ability would be great to see.

I like Lletget, but I don't think he has the speed to play the wing at the international level....unless it's in a 3 midfield set. I see him more as an 8, where he'd likely be behind McKennie, Adams, and possibly Acosta.

I really like Manneh. Would love to see him move abroad. Union Berlin did wonders for Wood.

The young soccer careers of Rubio Rubin and Brady Scott are headed in completely opposite directions.
