I think he is off to Europe this winter. He is going to be promised the opportunity for a spot, and it will be awfully hard to not take it. While he may do it, from a USMNT standpoint if there was one spot with the depth to over come this loss it is this one. Now it will hurt and suck, but it is not the end of the world.

He sounds committed to us, but maybe he's looking at the competition on the US side for the position he plays. He's already put a Mex nats player (Molina) on the bench at Monterrey. It would really suck if we lost him...maybe he's seeing an easier path on the Mex side....
We need to bring him in to see where he stacks up. If he kicks ass, he'll probably go with us...if he's clearly 2nd or 3rd in line probably not....not having a permanent coach right now to assess the situation doesn't help at all.

Gonzalez potentially transferring for a good fee is probably the story of the winter season. Maybe guys like Acosta and Adams move, maybe they don't. I'd love to see Gonzalez go to a German team
