Juergen wasn't perfect when it came to pushing the program forward either. He was Wondo and Beckerman's biggest fan. Both were trash as we all know.

Can anybody tell me anything about Ashton Gotz?

Benfica just extended his contract to 2022. That's a great sign and vote of confidence for him! There's a nice video and article on the Benfica page (most of the video is in English).

Good to see that Benfica really rates him highly.

Benfica put a $47m release clause on Keaton Parks. I don't know how standard it is to put a ridic high # in these contracts....

Pretty standard. If a team submits a bid for the full release clause they automatically get negotiation rights with the player and do not need the teams permission to talk to the player directly. Most teams inflate them with young players to insure they can recoup a great price if they develop into great players.

47? thats alot. Seems like they believe he will at some point start to be more value due to talent and playing time etc. Dont think you put that value to anyone.

Clubs like Benfica are often credited with finding & developing talent, and are therefore often raided by the Big Clubs/Leagues. Putting a price-tag like this on a young, fairly unknown talent, while extending his initial contract says that they see something in the kid and want to insure that if he does become a major talent that they'll get compensated for him. The release clause doesn't preclude the club from selling him for less....it just insures that if he is a major talent that clubs will have to pony up to get Benfica's consent.

Keaton is playing in the 2nd half right now due to an injury of the defensive midfielder. He is now the sole defensive midfielder in their midfield, apparently not exactly his usual role, and twitter people in portugal are not thrilled with his performance. I would like to see the guy be in a more attacking midfielder role in future appearances.

Apparently Benifica trying to mold him into a 6. Flexibility for him club and country wise IMHO.

If Pulisic is used out wide with the USMNT I like the ideas of Mckennie, Adams , and Parks midfield trio. With Williams, Acosta, and Roldan in the mix as well. Then you have Williamson, Juan Torres, Derrick Jones, Canouse in the depth picture.

Pulisic out wide on the USMNT has again and again shown to be too easily marked out of games, and Pulisic himself makes some bad decisions out wide on the USMNT. Club is a different story.
