Ooof. Not looking entirely confident at the back just a few minutes in.

Well no surprise there. Back line has been shaky since the start, and there's been no continuity for us leading the line.

Our defense was exposed in this game. Also the loss of Goslin to a yellow really hurt.

Also ridiculous Dest didn't start this game.

The three England goals were self inflicted mistakes in midfield.

I forget if it was McBride or Hercules who said on Thursday the US has a bad habit of recycling coaches. Hackworth perfect example failed in Philly so lets send him to U17s. We have had coaches get us to the quarterfinals of World Cups at all levels. But we just cannot seem to move past that. When we get a new coach one thing I hope that gets instilled all the way down is that you should not get happy about anything until you get that trophey. We saw it against Panama they seemed happy and comfortable with that result and then looked lackluster against T&T expecting them to role over us. Not at the same scale because they had several chances to score in first half, but they came out happy to be there. It is time we come out and play as if we are angry that we have not gotten one yet and will not be happy till we are jumpinh up and down on that stage.

2 mistakes/goals into the first 15 mins and it was game set and match. Cant conceed those kinds of mistakes in any kind of world cup youth or not.

agree but realistically we are not as good as England. Not when it comes to youth/senior or any of the world powers. Thats just a fact. Now our goal should always be, win the trophy but realistically what can we achieve at this very moment? Quarterfinal for any kind of world cup is solid now we have ask ourselves how we can improve that going forward.

I thought the biggest issue was our center backs not having anywhere near enough pace to deal with the England forwards.

Second biggest problem was not being able to get at least one back when we dominated the last 25 minutes or so of the first half.

I agree England is loaded in the youth levels. But we need to study what they have done. The U20s this cycle are far deeper in the back line while the u17s are really deep in the attack. But our biggest issue is coaching into that next level.

No Dest starting, no Durkin in midfield, 3 strikers essentially out on the field (Akinola being utterly useless) when the midfield wasn't going to be able to provide them service given how much defense they were going to have to do without Goslin (and without Durkin given coach decision), trusting Ferri and Booth to be the defensive shield for backline. I am through with Hackworth.

Well on the bright side Sargent could potentially get called up to the USMNT where he will get service. Unfortunately he played in a team with two wingers that are more strikers than providers.

But I think we will see a few of these guys in the USMNT in the future: Sargent, Weah, Goslin, Lindsey, Durkin, Dest, Sands are my list. I would add Carleton, but I am not sold on him yet.

I think Carleton will fade away, he had way way too many unforced turnovers in every game.

If Carleton made a ton of giveaways then that shows how much MLS sucks

Chris Goslin was prob the MVP of this team (because of his consistency) and he plays in ATL too and was sorely missed. Also drukin and sands who play MLS did a hell of a job for not playing their natural positions.

Anyways carleton is definately overrated... need to develop the position he will permantly play and personally dont think he is a CAM. Wasnt a very good winger either in the tournament so idk. Might be those that never take that next step.

agree all those you mention hopefully make the jump to Europe (those who havent) sooner rather than later. Especiially if they just come to MLS to sit in the bench like EPB at sporting

The final stretch of the English league season is upon us, with several Americans on the verge of relegation with their teams.
