I mean, I wasn't on the play the promising kids with no or virtually no senior experience bandwagon before, but why not now? Certainly would rather see Jonathan Gonzalez or Weston McKennie than trot Bradley out there again. A lot of these guys have given a ton to the national team over the years (Dempsey, Bradley, Howard, Beasley, Altidore, etc.), but they failed and failed miserably. You don't get to always choose how you go out and these guys went out with a whimper. Bradley needs to own that and stand down as captain.

Agree. 3 things need to happen:
1) Gulati to resign.
2) Assign an interim coach
3) November Friendlies....Basically make it squad of 24 and under players:

Wood, Morris, Sargent, Wright
Pulisic, Gooch, J. Gonzalez, McKennnie, Green, Saief
Brooks, Miazga, CCV, EPB, Glad, Yedlin, a LB (ANYONE),
Horvath, Gonzalez, Steffen

This defeat, and missing out on the WC is going to have ripple effects that will hurt the sport for years to come. Lost $$, Lower Attendance (USMNT & MLS), Lower TV ratings, etc....

Good start, we need to add Tyler Adams to that list. Acosta too (which one? heck bring Kellyn, Danny and George).

I'm still dumbfounded by the lack of effort by a good portion of the players in that game.

It is all there to play for...

Even an average amount of effort would have given us a point.

When you see guys hardly moving at all...no interest in putting the effort in to win second balls. Standing around after making a bad pass... Just an infuriating game from Jozy. The effort was so bad it looked like we were deliberately trying to throw the game.

You look at the intensity the Hondurans and Panamanians were bringing...playing for their WC lives. Then you look at our bunch standing around waiting for something to happen...truly sickening. Just 4 days after giving max effort to beat Panama in a solid cohesive effort.....same freaking 11...and they're not interested in giving enough effort to go the WC.

This was the most infurating part. Guys just looked like they were going to win by standing around. We would have gotten 3 losses in the group stage. Pulisic is the only world class player we have left. For the 2014 WC we left donovan off the roster and still came a wondo sitter away from knocking off belgium. Jurgen Klinsmann legacy will grow leaps and bounds. Bruce Arenas legacy is destroyed he will be persona non grata everywhere.

I said Josh Sargent two months ago and y'all talked shit.

Told you this shit was going to happen if keep starting Michael Bradley, Altidore, and Dempsey. Been saying forever not to call up Omar Gonzalez. The biggest mistake of the night was starting Nagbe and not Feilhaber.

Julie Stewart-Binks with the troll of the night...

"I haven't spent one second in preparation for the second game. All the focus is on Friday night."- Bruce Arena

EDIT: Nevermind, that was a RT of a real time quote from Stewart-Binks. That loses some troll value.

Funny how you all are saying the fucking same shit I've been talking about for the last 2 years.

We would've got bounced in the first around anyways.

Yeah, but you're a neo-nazi piece of shit who doesn't know the game, so no one cares what you say.

I was way more distraught when we lost to Ghana in 2010. This is a good thing. Because guess what? If we had qualified tonight, not a damn thing changes. We stay on this course until next summer, and I think even if we lost all 3 matches, we would still stay the course.

This absolute failure is *hopefully* the best thing to ever happen to the USSF and the USMNT. But...that's only if we make wholesale changes. If we do some cosmetic changes and put on a band-aid or two, this will have all been for naught.

Time to pull a Germany. And guess who was there for that German revolution? I ain't sayin, I'm just sayin.

Sorry, this is the darkest day in US Soccer, by far. You know it.

We're so insanely screwed it's not even funny. Our best bet at a Striker is only 17 and tbd. We have 1 good player. Our best CB is a band-aid. Our RB is 5 foot 2. Our captain has declined for the last 4 years. Our 2nd best player can't even get playing time at an average German team. And we have like maybe 4 kids in Europe that might have some potential. Tears.
If you don't love it, leave it, USA #1

2 months ago Sargent hadn't signed a pro contract, hadn't played in a U-17 WC, a U-20 WC, and we were building a team for 2018.
Now Sargent is headed for Germany, Has shown his ability in the U20 WC, and we are building a team for 2022.

If you can't see the difference between the decisions the team needed to make from yesterday to now....than son you are something special.

Oh absolutely it is. Never said it wasn't. But just because it's the darkest doesn't mean it can't also be the best. It truly all depends on what we do from here on out. If nothing is done, than yes, it's the darkest day in US soccer history. If we fucking fix this, than I would argue it's the greatest day.
