Micheal Bradley...please give your armband to Geoff Cameron and be prepared to fight for your place with Hyndman, McKennie, Acosta and others.
Let's hope the younger generation stays hungry and doesn't go soft.
In a way, this may end up being an important lesson to our youth teams that you cannot take anything for granted.
Geoff Cameron is done. That's what's unfair about all of this. Cameron is 32, and would have been a hell of a RCB at 33 in the World Cup. But why bother with a 34 year old CB in the 2019 Gold Cup? May as well give Miazga/Glad/EPB/whichever other younger player strikes your fancy the minutes in the 2019 Gold Cup as a development opportunity.

I'm watching the MLS post game.
Anyone piling on Omar Gonzales doesn't get it.

I have a good friend that lives there. I could use a Yuengling or pitcher.
Of course it's not their fault for being called up, but they should also be willing to just step away and let the next generation take the torch. Beasley and Omar shouldn't have been on this team any time in the past 2-3 years or more even.
You have to understand the player mentality. 99 of 100 think "I can do it". It is the coach's fault for bringing in a guy who can't do it, period.
It is not a player's fault for not doubting himself. He's a pro athlete, he needs self-belief.

I see Twellman has been reading Bshredder.
Possibly. I hope there's a reckoning with ASN and their cheerleading for Arena and not JK. There's a lot of soul searching to be had.

Sucks for Omar but he's a pro athlete and he messed up. He has to live with it. Play better.
Horvath and Steffen in. All 3 of these goalies out.
Brooks and Miazga should be the only 2 CBs playing unless hurt.
Yedlin, Fabian, Puli, Wood are the only ones that should be getting regular calls ups. Jozy and Bradley can hit the road. Those 2 will be back though. Especially MB. Our options are insanely limited.

Carlisle is dishing out the quotes tonight. This one is extra frustrating.

I nominate CCV and maybe EPB for the CB battle too.

I left the e-mail for Gulati, I'll leave it again.
If you're going to write to him, he will listen more if you give him a sober analysis, and not a hot take. Trust me:
One thing I promise you guys I can't do:
Ever, ever watch some of these players in the shirt again, unless they've fallen all the way out and earned themselves all the way back.
I will turn off matches if some of these dudes start.
I will turn them off if they are subbed in.
Just about everyone we have is either
a) too old now
or
b) needs to be banished and find their way back
If the next coach plays them like it ain't no thing, I will turn my back on the team.
I don't know who my complete list is yet, but it sure as hell includes Bradley, Nagbe and Altidore.
I have to go drink now.

Taylor Twellman for dog catcher. Need wholesale changes.
Graham Zusi at RB/LB is a disgrace. Might as well shut down one side of field on attack and make Swiss cheese on defense with his molasses speed. Just one example why we don't deserve a World Cup appearance. Just pathetic.

I was way more distraught when we lost to Ghana in 2010. This is a good thing. Because guess what? If we had qualified tonight, not a damn thing changes. We stay on this course until next summer, and I think even if we lost all 3 matches, we would still stay the course.
This absolute failure is *hopefully* the best thing to ever happen to the USSF and the USMNT. But...that's only if we make wholesale changes. If we do some cosmetic changes and put on a band-aid or two, this will have all been for naught.
Time to pull a Germany. And guess who was there for that German revolution? I ain't sayin, I'm just sayin.
