Was reported in a Mexican website that the Monterrey coach has talked to Osorio about the kid and a possible call up.

http://sbisoccer.com/2017/09/report-jonathan-...

The way I see it is like this. Mexico is done with qualifying and like us last cycle they are going to experiment in the last two hex games. So me pretending to be them why not call a kid that is a starter for the best team in Liga MX right now?

Now went back and forth with Brian Sciaretta (on twitter) and what I go from that exchange is that he is committed to the US program, examples of this was rejecting Chivas when they were offering a contract. Also has been in the program for year. Now that fine and I hope he ends up with us but this was all before the attention he is getting now. Everyone from mexican to american say he is a future star and that changes things as we know in soccer. I remember Jesse Gonzalez was with MX youth teams and "committed" to MX and he ended up switching...
If im Bruce i call him Oct for a player that doesnt play like Dax. if things end up well then you cap him...

I feel like if he's that good we should call him up just because we need him.

I mean he calls matt hedges over Matt Miazga who is playing lazio right now in Europa league.

Weston Mckennie is breaking in schalke even if hes only playing 15 mins. He should be looked at first before Roldan.

This is definately my gripe with our coaches. Too scared to bring in new faces that are going well. Not saying they should start but if youre going to bring Dax and Roldan and sit them in the bench. Wont make a different if we start going younger.

If he wants to play for Mexico he should play for Mexico. We've got plenty of options coming up. He's not going to be another pulisic. His Ceiling is probably Bradley(skill wise, not sure about heartwise). We should be getting better than guys like him.

The kid has stated he wants to play for the USA so not sure what this is all about but hopefully one of these days Arena will do the right thing. I doubt it, but hopefully he will. Of course he should be getting a look as a substitute against Panama up two goals and locking the game down.

I'm not surprised Mexico would want him. 18 years old playing and starting regularly for the best team presently in Liga MX., and his potential is very high. Mexico is looking to the future. Guardado is on his last legs, Dos Santios is a decent CM and quite honestly they are lacking depth at DM.

This kid should be called up in October for the US. What DM in the US system is really playing at his high level regularly right now? None.

Neither Acosta nor Mckennie are #6. Tyler Adams may be better suited as a RB going forward in his career. We have zero depth at DM. Yes this kid should be in the conversation for a callup.

Acosta, Mckennie, D Will, Gonzalez are all better 6s than Bradley and Beckerman

Where would you find better guys? (needless to say, 'heartwise')

Or Start him, our #6 situation is shit my friend, we got nothing to lose, oh wait a minute, we maybe 0-0 and Panama may have a long range strike in the 90th minute to send us to #5.

I understand what you're saying, and I actually agree with you. I'd rather see a young player w/ potential called in and sit the bench, than see Wondo, Rimando, Dax, etc. called up.
But people have also attacked coaches for bringing in players who are "breaking in" with their squads. Look back @ JK....Brought in Brooks, Yedlin, Wood, Green, Rubin, Green, etc....His young selections have been 50/50 so far.

The young soccer careers of Rubio Rubin and Brady Scott are headed in completely opposite directions.
