It would be a big deal because Gonzalez is the only one who has shown he can play regularly for a big team (Liga Mx winners). Adams plays for the Red Bulls and we have no idea if he could make it for Gonzalez's team. Parks has played virtually a handful of minutes and we don't know anything about yet. I want him to stay big time.

We have no idea if Gonzales could make it on the Red Bull's. They are both top prospects. I don't want to lose him but I don't see it as a big loss if we do.

@2 tone

Losing Gonzalez is a big loss because he could permanently replace Bradley from ever being called up again.

Mckennie, Adams, D will, Stanko, Parks, should all keep Bradley from being called up again

We are starting to see the emergence of a nice pool of mids....

10's: Pulisic, Scott, Parks, Saief, Gooch, (Hyndman, De La Torre)
8's: McKennie, Lletget, Adams, Acosta, Parks, Gooch, (Hyndman, Delgado)
6's: Gonzalez, Acosta, Adams, Roldan, Canouse, Stanko
Wings: Saief, Gooch, Arriola, Green, Amon, Manneh, Lennon,

Realistically some of these players will not work out....Stagnation, Injury, Slumps, etc.
D. Williams & Bradley will both likely play a part in transitioning to these younger players over the next 2 years, but these are who USSF should be looking to build the Midfield around, and will hopefully get the bulk of of minutes going forward.

After the World Cup qualifying failure, Bradley should never ever be called up again. Why are we still relying on a guy who was on the national team in 2008? This is why our style sucks because we still use these type of non attacking players.

Read Gonzalez interview

What position did you play on the Monterrey youth teams?
Attacking mid - we played with one holding, two attacking.

This is the opposite of how the US plays.. F**k Bruce Arena

I'd also put Mexico on notice. If they want to try to poach our players, then refuse to let them play friendlies in the US. They'll lose a shit load of money

Blaise, it's interesting to read him say that. About positioning. He's stated that he's playing more DM for now. I think we in the states, and this rubs off on him, call the two CM's in front of DM as attacking, but I'm sure Monterrey sees it ilke the way the rest of the world does, in that everyone attacks, everyone defends, but the DM always should keep a line beihnd the other two.

Your second comment is an interesting strategy, and it would def hurt their bottom line. I'm not sure if the USSF sees Mexico's poaching of late as egregious.. I honestly do not either. Interesting move, though.

Taylor Twellman reporting he'll file his one-time switch and play for Mexico in their friendly at the end of the month.

A bad loss but not devastating. It allows some of the other d mids to step up. But still plain stupid we were not in touch with him. Now that the WC is expanding, the Gold Cup maybe the only time we play Mexico in a serious game and we have not played them in the actual tournament since 2011.

The failure that is USSoccer... Just to be clear from what ive seen nothing of him going to file a one time just being assumed. But now is as good as ever to choose Mexico but at the end of the day if he doesnt want to play for us than he can fuck off. Playing for the US should be an honor

What a joke by US soccer,

His case is different, normally I would agree with @JZAVAL01 and we should forget about him if he doesn't want to play for us.

But in this case it looks like he wanted to play for us and NO ONE called him. I would be pissed too, here we have a team that is in dire straights and we didn't think to bring him in for a look against portugal, give me a break-

I think Brian Sciarretta says it best about Gonzalez. The last cycle we had no grit. If he is going to get all upset yeah it says somehing bad about US Soccer but what does it say about his mental make up. With Adams, Mckinee, Gaines and a host of others yeah it is bad but I want somebody who is 100%.

"In all honesty, that doesn't reflect well on Gonzalez (and why I don't really believe it either). Every single camp involves players who don't get called who probably should make it. At 18, Gonzalez can't handle one snub under an interim manager in a meaningless game? https://t.co/Yu17Ul5dLw"
