Has good instincts in passing. Loved how he shielded and didn't just panic on the ball.

Then I guess Bruce will never call him into camp.

I laughed a little, but then got despondent. But then not so much. I feel if Weston becomes a hot commodity, h'ell call him in.. Moreso if we make it to the WC

Same thing with Jona Gonzo.

Could be they figure they will lose this one so they'll rest the regular starters for the weekend match they can win[/qu

I see it more as we like this kid alot lets see what he can do. I would hope the manager would throw out his best lineup regardless of opponent. From what i saw he played ok. His last 20 minutes were very encouraging.. Harit let him down on the second goal and chested the ball right into the Bayern players feet who then found James for the goal.

It was meant as humor.

I think his hand will be forced. Let's face it, Bradley's spot needs to have the guaranteed tag taken away from it. He needs to be pushed to either step up his game or step aside. This next cycle will be interesting as we have some promising midfielders coming up in McKennie, Gonzalez, Hyndmann coming through and depending on his development, EPB as well. Add to that Danny Williams and it looks like a bit of a strength again.

Here's a question.

And I guess the way you answer it depends how you evaluate talent.

Is this kid better than Kelyn Acosta?

I go with Yes.

From what I have read a most resounding yes...good engine, good passer. Moving forward perhaps Acosta can move to lb for the nats...to plug a huge hole as well as have him on the field for set pieces.

Don't forget that's exactly what JK tried to do with Acosta and was slammed for it. My guess is that after 2018 we'll see a rotation of McKennie, Acosta, & Gonzalez as our primary CDM/CM. With guys like Hyndman, Roldan, Zelalem, De La Torre, & Canouse rounding out the depth chart.

My hope is that Farfan, Payne, or someone else from the current youth ranks will step up and be our LB after 2018, and that Fabian will be move back to defense for our current squad.

I honestly think someone like Acosta that plays for RSL is a good prospect at LB. But, in a total lolfest... he too was a CDM at birth.

Damn JK, he is clueless and plays everyone out of position. Glad we fired him "end of sarcasm"

Tyler Adams is going to be in the mix. Maybe unseating one of those top 3 you just listed. Will be interesting to see if he's sold in the winter.

I think Kelyn is pretty good. I was surprised at his ball skill watching him over the season.

Tyler Adams has potential only be because he's been getting heavy minutes at 17 18.

McKennie just signed a 5 year deal with Schalke. "Weston will develop into a key part of our first team with us. Weston has shown in the past few months that he is more than capable of contributing significantly to the future of Schalke," sporting director Christian Heidel said in a news release.

That's pretty awesome and a good sign that this isn't just a little trial period for him.

There's no rush... well it depends how you look at it..

But I would totally call him in. And hopefully if we're up a couple goals, bring him in to kill off 20 minutes between him and Acosta in the midfield. It's not MB 90 any more is it? Even still imagine how much bite those three would have together.

compare that to this

"Believe it or not, Cristian's best quality is his humility. What drives Cristian to be as good as he is and work as hard as he does is something that not a lot of players possess. His technical ability, quite frankly, can improve. However, his athletic ability quite often makes up for a stubborn first touch. Cristian is the type of player that will be around our league for years and years and years and years - and quite possibly, if his technical ability catches up to his athletic ability, could be a player who attracts attention from quite a few leagues around the world."

i like Roldan, I can see him in a CM spot. But the gmes he was tried out, the friendlies I remember seeing balls that were short, balls that he didn't corral close enough to his body and away from the defender.
