This. We're hot garbage right now, but let's at least play guys who a) are employed as professional soccer players, b) are healthy and c) want to/are eligible to play for the U.S.

But in FIFA '17, you can do anything!

I'm just coming on to watch but I've noticed nagbe holds on the ball for too long trying to decide where to pass, sucks in crossing and shooting!

For those who are crying about Bruce I said in the beginning that was the worse decision possible and Sunil Galti needs to go too.. part time soccer president,, fook him !

@Joey11 what blaise is saying above is why I commented before beginning of the game I was not sold on Nagbe.

@blaise, Sunil will never be voted out, he will be our Sepp Blater! Wait, did US Soccer vote in term limits this last time he was given the job? Outside of Arena, who else could we have given the job to?

While watching the game on BeIn last night, the English commentators made a VERY important point. MLS has not helped our USA players as much as people want to say/think. It has helped THE REST OF CONCACAF get better though.

Last rant, time for MB90 to go. He does still get some killer passes off, BUT, when you are constantly checking to the back pass... SMH. His move to MLS and a GUARENTEED starting spot did nothing for his game. Who will step up? Nobody can step up because they do not get called in.

14/15 passing, held onto the ball as best as he could and drew fouls.

He underwhelmed last night. Everyone did.

But I agree he sucks at crossing and shooting. Those are not his things.

So... biggest September winners? Besler is still holding strong to his CB claim. I'd take him over anyone not named Brooks/Cameron at this point. Arriola has held up pretty well. Wood? An 18 year old kid who is getting hacked to pieces is still our best player.

I think the big winners were the non-players. Williams and Chandler must feel like there are still openings. Yedlin and Brooks confirmed their value by not being there. McKennie has a huge opportunity if he continues to get game time. The middle of this team seems totally up for grabs.

Losers = Beasley is done. Wondo is done. FabJo hasn't looked himself for months and needs game time. Gonzo is often a liability and can't hold an offsides trap to save his life.

There sure are openings, but Bruce said that no new faces this world cup cycle, no?

I do not buy into the philosophy that there are big risks to bringing in new faces. Nothing about the USMNT in the last 3 WC cycles has lead me to believe that "oh shit, he's bringing in 1 or 2 new players!? Don't you remember that last time....those guys ruined that game!" And if this is what stability in just a core group of guys brings us, then it's not really something I would be proud of Bruce. Only thing you are judged on are WCQs and the WC, thus far this is mediocre and mostly on you.

Whoa whoa, I am not talking about age, as in avoiding older players. I want to bring in players who haven't been in the core, both old (Feilhaber, Kliejstan, etc) AND young (Lennon, etc).

Bruce is at the same point now as he was prior to the 2006 WC. At that time he stuck with a handful of guys who were on fumes, but had grit and experience...but no speed.

Even though he says no new guys will be brought it, I doubt he'll repeat the same mistake. He was roasted for sticking with his old guard after the 2006 WC.

He needs to bring in a handful of tough quality players...Lletget, Miazga...maybe Adams. Guys who are mentally mature with some speed and quality. There are easily 5-6 guys that can be dropped from the current roster.

I needs to take a page out of the 2002 WC and go with quality youth...not mimic the mistakes made leading up to the 2006 WC.

After the Absurdly poor performances by both the players and the coaches through these 2 qualifiers I have to hope that Bruce will make some changes ahead of the October Qualifiers. But that will greatly depend upon the health/recovery of a handful of players. Does anyone know when we could expect the return of....

RCB: Cameron, Miazga
LCB: Brooks, Besler

LM: Nagbe, Saief,
CAM: Pulisic, Dempsey
F: Wood, Jozy, Morris

Dave and Blaise213, your lineups make sense. Subtle changes, but the core is still intact. I like it alot.
