Pulisic needs to play centrally. Nagbe was underwhelming as usual. If Pulisic was in the hole, fabians pass and move style would be a bonus. Problem is Nagbe has no vision to see a pass. Switching him and Pulisic was a mistake from Arena.

All the happy clappy Americans who wanted Jurgen out in favor of an American dinosaur should pay attention. This was the worst loss of the Hex.

Guzan is at this point better athletically than Howard.

Cameron had a bad game but I expect him back at CB.

Next game we just need a draw. Acosta should be out there and I prefer Bedoya to Nagbe I think he has more quality near the box.

In the 1-2 loss to Mexico, Bradley had a 2 v 1 with wood if he passed it we probably win but he didn't and Marquez scored the winner moments later. I never got a sense we had a chance last night... Pulisic whiffed on an open chance and Altidore couldn't convert woods cross but aside from the two Navas saves, we struggled for any good chances at all.

@stoked is spot on about the first goal. Villafaña and Bradley just sit there and watch while Howard screwed up twice. Ream was good in possession all night as well. I think the criticism of him is harsh. Bradley, all alone, showed why he isn't a CDM at this level either. The team is a mess and it's all hands on deck. Graham Zusi is the least of our worries.

Probably the most stupidest comment on this board in a while. I wouldn't called up such a shit roster to play Costa Rica to begin with? Who the fuck would call up Tim Ream let alone making him a starter? Brooks and Miazga are my starters.

Lets just keep starting backwards passing Bradley! Dude made one attempt to go forward at a defender. Im beyond tired of that idiot.

Stick with Bruce and we might make it out of qualifying but if keeps up this same shit roster, were going to get bounced out of the group stages. Another 4 years wasted

I wouldnt have started Ream either. Never has looked good and the last time he looked good he was in a 5 man backline, completely different system. And yes why do we have Cameron and Ream two player that are "good on the ball" and still have bradley dropping back. The reality is we have no system/ lost players. Same thing Jurgen had at least tonight

Arena doesn't need to be fired. Just like JK didn't need to be fired. The OBVIOUS problem is we don't have the players to be good right now.

I've been a big Fabain guy even with his invisible games. But I'm starting to side with 2tone. If he's not playing LB, or even RB like last WC then get out of the 11.

But until we get someone better than people like Jozy or MB we're stuck with this squad.

When was the last time Fabian Johnson looked decent on the midfield? From all his game Its not inspiring.

Nagbe Wood Morris
----Pulisic---
--Bradley-Acosta/Dax-
FJ-Besler-Cameron-Zusi/Lichaj
-----Howard/Guzan

This game exposed arena for the crap bag coach he is. Costa Rica showed from the jump they were going to double pulisic every time he touched the ball and keep a cd over for cover. Arena and/or Bradley should have recognized that they needed to beat this with a quick switch. Ball into pulisic, then when the 2nd/3rd defender come over ball goes to Bradley and nagbe quick to swing it to fab/overlapping villafana. That would have opened up space and after showing they could do that Costa would have had to adjust. Instead we kept playing right into the heart of their defense.

You can't be serious, 1 game in what 14, 15 games and he is a crap bag coach. LOL, OK

i was the only one pregame doing that in fact. All you Galaxy crowd and happy clappys had three points in a present wrapped under the Arena tree.

Give credit where it is due....Costa Rica had a game-plan and they executed it to perfection. Arena was out coached and our players were out played...simple as that.

Yes mistakes were made....some of the biggest were made by Arena with his player selections (both the squad and the starters). Some believe we don't have the players, but our players on paper are the equal or better of the Costa Ricans, and if Arena actually attempted to challenge the status quo and called in our best players and the young talent the result would likely have been different.

Two things stuck out to me here. Howard is done. His strength was his athleticism and reactions. After watching him last night some of those Rapids highlights have been confirmed he has a tendency to fall asleep and make bad decisions.

This team also has nobody outside of a 34 year old Dempsey who has a mean streak to him. They got bullied out there. Until the US can either show the discipline to attack Costa Rica with speed and precision or have guys who just get pissed off by putting on a kit they will struggle against Costa Rica and that style of play. Right now I see Costa Rica has a tougher match up then Mexico, due to style of play and their ability to sacrifice for the team.

I am not sure what is better against Costa Rica a big team that will fight back. Or a team that is pure speed to tire them out, and perhaps draw some penalties. Problem with that is we get Concacaf refs and how much different is that game with a called penalty in the first half.

Just wait folks, we will be in 5th place after Honduras match, then we gag over how great MLS players, how great Bruce Arena with 14-2 record is, how fabulous our backline works with Tim "the greatest ever" Ream, wonder boy Villafana. Dare I mention our players who speak immaculate English so that they know Star Spangled Banner.

Lets never call, Brooks, FJ, Chandler, D. Williams, B. Wood or anyone who cannot be decent in SAT...

Oh, we can bring back Bob Bradley back after Arena.

I can't take anyone seriously who uses the phrase "most stupidest" lol. I legitimately laughed out loud when I read that.

Also, anyone who even remotely follows the USMNT knows Brooks is out injured.
