I was finally able to watch the Mexico game and while I haven't yet gone through the thread these are my initial thoughts:

1) This game showed how deep our talent pool is. Arriola, Acosta and Wood should have earned more playing time.

2) Geoff Cameron had a remarkable game, he was superb. I would build the team around him, I think he can be our Rafa Marquez. We have the talent for Wingbacks and I would like to play Cameron in the Rafa pivot role whereby he sometimes drops back into the Center of a back three allowing the Wingbacks to get forward and at other times steps up into a Destroyer role whereby the wingbacks drop into a traditional back 4. I could really see that working well for us and I think Geoff has the skillset and experience to excel in that role if given the opportunity to play it with consistency.

3)

Words can't accurately describe the elation of point three so we may as well watch it again.

4) Stu Holden is excellent. Real time tactical analysis in a non-smug way.

5) Arena is really transparent with his comments. He told us to expect significant changes and he made significant changes. We doubted him because we are scarred from Juergen's meaningless comments.

Elation? Bradley's first touch was horrendous on that goal

Holden is already the best color commentator we've had.

Dewd, you're talking nonsense. I refuse to even explain why this is dumb.

Don't think he was trapping, just touching into safe space.

I agree, glad to see he's found a second calling after his crazy bad luck with injuries. He always could read the game well on the field too.

I was out of town for a week-

Big ups to Bruce Arena who I criticized all month. He did well getting a draw in Mexico, a very necessary draw. Let's not get too pumped up about the performance, we basically hoofed it to Wood and then Jozy all game. That's not really that awesome.

Bradleys wonder goal got us the point.

The best player on the USA might well be Geoff Cameron, @skangles.... but don't sell Yedlin short either. He keeps getting better at reading how to attack, some of his movements and passes were top notch. Another full season in the Premier League and Yedlin will be one of our most key players in Russia- his defending of the other teams attackers has been, and will continue to be, Yedlin's bread and butter. Hazard in 2014 was just the beginning.

Ham, fully agree on Yedlin. He has looked like a vastly improved player in these June games.

This is an unfair comment but I am going to make it anyway, I like that he has ditched his flashy hairstyles. It feels symbolic of the maturity that is now clearly visible on the field.

I finally listened to the Total Soccer Show recap and was pleased to hear Daryl Grove mention the Cameron to Rafa Marquez comparison. I really like it, I think it could lead to big things for us with cameron in that role.

It's fair enough.
No one wants an underachieving Swagudelo who's more awesome in his mind than on the field.
