I thought Ream was very solid. Considering the last three starts Brooks has had have to start wondering if Ream has moved back into the picture. Would not shocked to see a lower level Premiere league or Bundesliga team make a run for him.

Thoughts:
-Overall a good point, we had chances to even steal the win. Gonzalez missing those open headers hurt.
-Liked Ream back there as others have noted. Liked Arriola's competitiveness (good tactical foul for the yellow too) and Pulisic's confidence. Bradley had some bad fouls but the goal was sweet.
-Beasley was primarily at fault on the goal, and it pains me to say it because he remains one of my favorite USMNT players. Gives it his all every time out. He shouldn't have let Vela get inside but his help was also nowhere to be found (Cameron could have made a challenge and did nothing). Acosta should have made a challenge on Hernandez as they broke out.
-Ref was comically bad. Salcedo should have been sent off for the two elbows.

Its great to walk away with a point, Mexico had possession but didn't do much with it.

I called for Ariola and frankly he didn't play great,

Ive been calling for bradley to sit and I still think he needs too, although that was a world class goal, if he can get back to that it would be great it seems as though since coming back to mls he is timid, when he was playing over seas he came back confident.

Acosta was really good and Cameron was a beast.

Nagbe came in and really helped us-I think we need to figure out a way for him and acosta to be on the field, the only issue is that would mean bradley would come off.

Overall pleased Bruce took chances, and glad we took points, we are getting closer to the World Cup!

anyone know why Howard was kept out, I understand fabian and dempsey taking a seat but I think howard would have at least made an attempt at the goal.

Good result.

This was Bradley's best performance in a while.

Yedlin Gonzalez Cameron were all pretty great.

Pulisic was kept quiet but he had a few sparks. Hope they release him back to Dortmund.

My understanding is the team medical staff was worried about potential inury risks as this was second game in three days. Also game plan called for a lot of deep goal kicks which Guzan did pretty well. I Especially since the grass was cut in a way that the pitch seemed to be pretty slippery at time. Example was a us attack in which bobby wood fluffed his lines because he had trouble standing up. Numerous players were slipping state of pitch was pretty bad. Not Antigua and Barbuda cricket field bad but it was getting there.

I agree with all these points. I actually thought Wood had a underrated good game he made very good runs and was unlucky not to get a goal in the game. Especially on that one play where pulisic was trying to cut the ball back towards goal. I think he did pretty well for being the only attacking threat at times other then Bradleys crazy good long shots.

Mission Accomplished! The toughest road game is over (though we tend to play poorly in Honduras for some reason)

MOTM for me was Cameron, but it was a solid team effort. The newbies Acosta and Arriola, while not great, did not wilt under the pressure so credit for them.

Tactically got it right IMO ( I believe I may had said the three a the back change in the Venezuela match was a precursor to this match). Ballsy decision to rest all those players but it will do wonders for team spirit as everyone will believe that their teammates will get the job done, no matter who they are. I don't think we have anyone suspended for the next match, so a positive there as well.

How would any neutral observer not call that a red card??

I thought it was interesting when Stu said Arena told everybody at the first day of camp they would playing a three back against Mexico...they had plenty of time to work on it...probably with multiple player combos. Second half looked like a 5-4-1.

Got the job done. With 4 games remaining there is a possible 12 points to get. I think the team will get close to that point total.

Bradley at his best when he has someone next to him like an Acosta. I have a feeling we may see more of this formation going forward. But I would start Nagbe instead of Artiola. I think arriola could be a very good spark off of the bench.

I saw the replay of the Mexico goal, and I have to say that Guzan did not look good.
He looked like he was guessing, and then the ball went against the way he was leaning and he didn't even leave his feet (because he wasn't set).
Not my favorite kind of goalkeeping.

Can we get some more discussion about the 3 2 5 we saw in the beginning that morphed into a 1 4 5?

And how much we "liked" it?

i loved it, bravo to Arena. His aesthetic is blue collar, but he tinkers like a mad scientist.

"before the camp I told people, 7 to 9 changes for Mexico game."

This is why Dempsey was upset. He knew he wasn't going to play against Mexico.

Can imagine Arena saying, "be careful dude, we're trying for 4 to 6 points, not your scoring record..."

I love this team

Goal was not DMBs fault. Twellman makes that point well here (see video in link):

https://twitter.com/taylortwellman/status/874...
Acosta needs to slow up play or deliver a tactical foul in midfield and then DMB properly funneled play to the middle where help wasn't found.

Anyone know what the expected goals were? Mexico had 75% possession but I believe only the 1 SOG. Wondering if we actually had the higher quality chances all told.
