What's going on with Kyle Scott? Last year, we hear that he's asked to transfer from Chelsea. He then trials with a Dutch club (Willem II).....and then......nothing. There's no evidence that he did leave Chelsea, but I don't see any match reports involving him from their side either. I see on twitter that he was actively rooting for the U-20's, that he had a recent injury, and that his twitter profile picture is still him in a Chelsea kit.

Any news?

Here's the latest news article that I have. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/525...

I believe he may have had an ankle injury a few months back.

He has played 3 of the last 4 developmental Squad (U-21) for Chelsea in Central Midfield. On the Chelsea fans chat page he got a lot of stick being the weak link in the side that lost to the Man City DS 4-3. He was an unused sub in the 4-1 loss to Arsenal but has played the last two matches, a 0-0 draw with Southampton and a 2-0 loss to Liverpool.

The Development Squad is the equivalent of the old Reserve team. The parent clubs may opt to play a few over age players in the side to keep match fitness or regain it after injury. In the past Chelsea have usually used this squad for youth players but this year they have occasionally used it to get players matches to either get them fit or put them in the shop window.

I find it odd he is not on the training camp roster for the London training sessions. Looking at his twitter account he retweeted the U-20 CONCACAF triumph posting from the youth team account, so it looks like he may be interested.

Thanks for the update. Wonder if it's time for a new club for him.

I would say the chances of him breaking through at Chelsea are remote so a change is inevitable. He is only 19 though so he will probably end up on loan next season. Where will be interesting.

IMO, if they want to take a closer look at him to see how he handles the physical side of the game (he is small), they will send him to the lower leagues. If they want to put him in a shop window I dare say he will end up in Vitesse.

A mild surprise to see Scott on the bench...but Chelsea currently are thin in the center midfield and players who can play the holding role.

That being said, it is still a feat since CFC do have a number of talented young CM's that are a little older and better athletes. I dare say he is in this position more for his understanding of the game than his physical prowess...in other words he probably plays like Conte used to.

Still, well done.

Looks like Scott will make the Chelsea bench tomorrow. The only central mids that are healthy are Kante and Fabregas and they allowed another cm to go out on loan today. Normally Scott would have started the PL2 match against Man City today, but he wasn't even in the squad.

it looks unlikely he will be going out on loan this season unless Chelsea buy two cm's before the window closes. He may get a cup game or two, but it looks like a season similar to CCV's last year for Scott.

Yup, on the bench vs. Burnley.

Suspensions to Cahill and Fabregas will probably see him on the bench against Spurs next week as well.

Fully expect Chelsea to buy a midfielder this week.

Off-topic: Hate Chelsea(Arsenal supporter) but I am loving their and the other North London teams new Nike jerseys. Wish Arsenal still had Nike. It was like a match made in Heaven.

Anyway, if the Chelsea squad does get larger, I would like to see a loan for this kid. A bunch of appearances on the bench isn't ideal for him taking the next step.

I don't know about that. I agree that playing matches is the best way to improve, but going out on loan this late in the window is always a crapshoot. He will be walking into a new environment cold with no assurances of playing time. If he stays, he will still be training with the first team and will have a leadership role within the PL2 squad when they play.

The young soccer careers of Rubio Rubin and Brady Scott are headed in completely opposite directions.
