Jermaine Jones is about to hold an instagram live chat at 7pm and promises to talk about some important stuff/people. I have a strong feeling he is about to lay the smackdown on all the haters who gave him poor reviews.

Sorry for the over the top thread title.

I hope he has a good finisher move.

Oh boy. Social media plus non-media trained athletes is a dangerous combination. . .

I'm going to guess Fatt Doyle gets a mention.

If Jermaine Jones goes online and starts smack tackling Bruce adn the team, then... it's over for the JJ Bradley pairing right?

Am I a bad person for seeing this as the first benefit to our US MNT?

Rey, we should be so lucky.

I wonder if he will address Arena's comment where he states" the team is together, everyone wants to be here...with the exception of maybe 1-2 guys". wow...wtf.

Pretty candid for him to bring that up right after the Panama game.

I'm assuming he was talking about the guys that actually showed up to play and not the ones that had timely injuries that prevented them from making the trip...

Sounds like there is still some housing cleaning to be done...

Well looks like he deleted his tweet apparently he blasted the media and others. Anyone saw it ? Or a link to what he said. Doesn't look good at all. His career might of just ended with the mnt.

Can I ask why there is such intense vitriol for JJ? Some of the same people commenting were commenting before the World Cup when he was arguably the best field player or at least one of the best and again before Copa America when he was among the best. Since he came to mls he led two teams to mls cup finals (revs fan yes he was the primary driver at least there). He played prior in the bundesliga. From the comments here some seem to imply he doesn't know how to play the game or is the primary problem in the locker room. Yes he is absolutely is nearing the end of his shelf life and we should be moving on but he is a good player. I don't understand the apparent intense personal hatred for the guy.

I have no hatred for him. I dislike the minutes that he's getting right now, and I had reservations about him being a loose canon- but no hate.

Re: Jones IG chat or tweet, and a Google search by me

...nobody has anything on it, and it's now 7 hours since it happened (or didn't happen). I saw the promise of it from Jones with my own eyes, but I never saw the promise delivered.

Vitriol was not in my comment. Vitriol, (fiery glass- good looks wikipedia!) would be like

GET THE HELL OUTTA MY COUNTRY's NATIONAL TEAM YOU DUMBASS DUAL NATIONAL.

My complaint goes "damn this guy is on his last legs, he's viewed as the conservative option.. that option sucks, I hope our coach realizes that... it should be either Jones or Bradley in midfield, and since Bradley is the newly appointed Captain America, it's probably going to just be Bradley until we move him out"

I truly, truly don't think that's vitriolic.

Truly the greatest single footballing feat I've ever seen our US player have was that wonder shot against Portugal. If Jermaine Jones could die at the age of 78 and still be at the form he was at 33, by all means, I would want him on our team until 77.8. But sadly, noone escapes age.

I love Jones. I love his grit and his ability to step it up on the big stage. At the moment I think he is a good bench option, not a starter. That's definitely not hate.
