Plenty of options. Personally Hyndmann in and Lletget to wing makes sense to me

that works too, esp since camp hasn't started and Hyndman wouldn't have missed anything.

My guess Nagbe on the left and Villafana right behind him. Nagbe cuts inside to give more options in the middle. Villafana goes up and down the left flank which is something he did to great effect in the January games.

I just don't want to see Bedoya get a start. That's all I ask for. If you need an excuse, then just focus on the beef between Jozy and Bedoya, avoid that.

Replaced by Graham Zusi.

Blah. Arena is not much different than Klinsmann. I really thought we should have moved in a different direction instead of reaching back into the past by hiring Arena.

Nailed it! I came on here just to post that Bruce Arena is Klinsmann 2.0

Out of curiosity, who would you have called in as a replacement for FJ as it looks like he was the starting RB based on this replacement call-up?

Zusi doesn't exactly inspire confidence but he's proven himself vs. CONCACAF opposition (albeit in the midfield). Yedlin is hurt. So is Lichaj. Chandler is suspended for the first game. We have some CB's who can cover in pinch and all our other RBs are unproven and untested at the international level...

Not trying to start an Arena vs JK argument, genuinely curious because our options at the moment are severely limited for what is a MUST WIN game.

Arena would not off been my #1 replacement for JK but to say he isn't different than him is Blasphemous i would still take Arena over JK any time. Is unfortunate Arena has to deal with some key injuries but i still think he can get the job done he will get results WHICH is what we need at this point style of play doesn't matter not like JK ever had one. But at the end of the day 3pts is what we need i could care less if we play like Leicester city we just need to get a top 3 place in the Hex. I see he brought on some Veterans heck we need that in this match/games is important we cant take any more risks young guys they will get their chance in the gold cup which is meaningless by the way.

Danny Williams, Alfredo Morales, Hyndman. Do you necessarily need a like for like swap? If not play 3 at the back like some reports are rumoring could happen and play a right sided midfielder that is RB-minded.

I know now is not the time to experiment and go with what is proven but why fire JK then if you are going to line-up the same players and play them in the same positions?

I think if we're playing 4 at the back then it needs to be a like-for-like based on the personnel available. I'd be okay trying out a 3-5-2 formation at some point but I don't think a must win game(s) is the time to tinker like that.

As for the same players, same position argument I get it. We need to start integrating some newer (& younger) players. The counter-argument to that is that our WC qualification may well rest on these next two games. Anything less than four points is a disaster. Do you take the guys who know what takes and have gotten the job done before or trial by fire with some new guys? My personal opinion is do whatever it takes to secure qualification while integrating the young guys when possible (Gold Cup, friendlies, if/when we have qualification locked down).

Far from perfect but it's necessary (imo) after laying an egg in the first two games of the hex.

Well, somewhere in the Zusi call-up are a few other questions:

Cameron must be RCB, no more talk of RB is necessary. There are going to be 3 RCBs in camp (Cameron, Gonzo, Zimmy), and that's without including Orozco. Why 3, and who does Arena think can play LCB in a pinch?

Zusi beat out Rosenberry, and now is backing up Orozco... it seems. How low must Arena rate Rosenberry, to be under those two?? (Philly suffered a goal that went through Rosenberry's zone against Toronto, and he was certainly partly to blame, although the wildly overrated Andre Blake can take a piece of that responsibility. Good lord his footwork is terrible.)

Does this end the speculation of a 3-back system for March? Or do you feel that Zusi might actually make a 3-back system MORE likely now??

Zusi could be seen as RWB "like for like" switch for Fabian if Bruce was going with Beasley at LWB and Johnson RWB...

I think Honduras is going to pack it in and look to break. Having a Zusi to lob balls into a well defended box at Wood and Jozy would be to our advantage, IF we can keep possession that is.

@mmee RE:Rosenberry

I'm not sure it's a matter or rating Rosenberry that low as it is he's completely untested at the international level. This is all about the points and Zusi has been there/done that in WC Qualifying before.

In a perfect world KR would've gotten some minutes during the January camp friendlies but this year was more about Arena getting a month to evaluate the core of his team and still his ideas with the secondary goal of seeing where his "future" prospects lie on the spectrum of breaking through.

If we go into the gold cup with a full roster of veterans then something is wrong...
