What is our friendly schedule? We need to try a couple players and or formations to nail down our best 11 and formation.

Bradley, he was a beast when he was in overseas now that he is back he seems to lack confidence-obivously he his not pushed as hard in practice but if you look at his play he usually receives the ball 3 feet from our back line. everyone likes him b.c of his hustle and never say die attitude. However he needs to sit and does jones so we can get a feel for who to plug in.

Lets see what Acosta has, I actually like Cameron in that role b.c I think we can easily plug a RCB in to play where Cameron was.

We need a game where Villafana is tested, he looks ok to good now, but there is going to be a time when teams test him. Panama chose to exploit Zusi (hope we don't see him again)

We need altidore to sit. We need to get Morris/wood or green up top.

Ariola VERY short sample size but he looked good once again.

Nagbe plays well, has a good touch, will take people on, however one thing to note I cant think of one cross that he put into the box. Maybe we move him centrally and put fabian outside or at LB and have him overlap when nagbe cuts in?

For me CP is a stud, if he moves centrally it will allow for Ariola to go out wide.

But these are small sample sizes-we need friendlies without: Bradley, Jones, Zusi, Gonzo, Wondo.

Im not saying we do this but for experimenting sake

Wood
Pulisc

Green Nagbe Ariola

Stoked, we are unlikely to have any Friendlies in the near future. The next FIFA window is in June and we are already booked for the T&T and Mexico WCQs.

After that it'll be the Gold Cup in July. We generally schedule a Friendly or two right before the Gold Cup and it seems like it's usually against Guatemala.

Yeah, looking forward to a little bit of experimentation in the GC. Wouldn't bother me one bit if we didn't invite MB90 and JJ and tried out Acosta, Hyndman instead. Even if the 2 newbies choked - at least we would learn something. I usually say do everything possible to win the Gold Cup, but not this time.

MB is mediocre on his best day and JJ is 40.

Can we please stop talking about what if young high potentials choke bs and what if they're better than any midfield we've had?

How much worse can Acosta and Hyndman be?

Dick's Sporting Good Park to host the qualifier vs. T&T. Another underwhelming capacity stadium for our most important matches. But Mexico can fill up the Rose Bowl to face Burkina Faso in a friendly.

I understand it is for the altitude but why not play at the Broncos stadium?

Goff is reporting that the US is likely to play a Friendly against an unnamed opponent in Sandy, UT in early June.

My bet is friendly is against an eliminated CONCACAF team or best case scenario a low level CONMEBOL team (Bolivia would be my gues, maybe Venezuela). I'd expect a team like Nicaragua, El Salvador, Jamaica.

Living in Utah, I'm stoked for the potential June friendly in Sandy! 2 questions for you guys though:
1. Do you think our European players be on International break yet for the friendly?
2. Does anyone know if the Mexico game is FOR SURE on June 11. I know it was the 13th for a while. I'm planning on heading down to El Azteca for the match, and I believe there's no official announcement yet.

It's not unusual for there to be a friendly or 2 in June during a Gold Cup year as a way to bridge European players from the end of their season into the Tournament. Not sure how they'll fit one/two friendlies into early June considering we face T&T on the 8th and Mexico on the 11th/13th.

Regardless if the friendly is before the WCQers than it'll be mostly MLS/Liga MX players. If it's after the WCQers it'll be mostly European players. I just hope it includes a good portion of the younger players and not all the aging veterans.

I get D will being mentioned.

But Cameron is literally a Premier League CDM.

And I get the frustration with Bradley, I've included him in all my projected lineups... because I feel nothing short of him killing an icon in pop culture is going to result in his benching. This is a new era, Arena era. Arena will forgive all the past poor performances from players (minus Chandler and now Jones etc maybe) and give a fresh slate to those who were considered bedrocks.

If someone so philosophically opposed to Klinsmann is doing osme things that Klinsmann did, then maybe it wasn't such a head scratcher to begin with. Or maybe that change is something TOO radicial, that not even klinsmann would entertain it.

I'd assume its a friendly before the first qualifier. Build up towards the high altiutude. Start in Utah, move to Denver, then down to Mexico
