Kenny Saief. I can hear Blaise's jubilation from here.

Or the fact that I seem to know what the f**k I'm talking about ! Majority of the roster still sucks

So is Klejstan and Feilhaber's time over with the USMNT? Unfortunate, both still are worthwhile, certainly more than Joe Corona and McNamara and Pontius and...

Corona over Feilhaber is a mystery to me.
The problem with Kljestan is that he needs 3-4 in front of him, I think, but he doesn't play CM like that for club.

McNamara and Pontius are more wide players, so they're harder to compare to Feilhaber and Kljestan.
Pontius can't cut it on the int'l level.
McNamara is a reasonable call-up for a 40-man roster.

Joe Benny has been playing really well in Mexico this season, his inclusion in the 40 is warranted and I would put him on the final roster.

He has to file a one time switch to be part of this roster so one would suspect that he will be on the final roster.

In all seriousness I look forward to seeing what he can do for the MNT.

I don't see what Bradley, Bedoya, Dempsey and Altidore gives us. We know what they can do.

My guess is Bradley, jozy, Dempsey, pulisic, Howard don't make the initial 23 and some or all are brought into the knockout rounds. That way they only miss 10-14 days instead of a month

It's unfortunate, but my main USMNT memories of Spector are a) him getting concussed right before we scored to beat Mexico in Gold Cup 2007 (I've watched that goal so many times that him looking totally out of it is one of my main memories of him with the USMNT) and b) him being so horribly out of form and confidence right before the 2010 World Cup that we didn't dare play him in the tournament (played a not fully fit Onyewu over him even). I do remember he played well in that upset friendly win in Italy in 2012.

Please remember the cross into Dempsey against Egypt for the final and decisive goal

and

against Brazil in the final for the Confederations Cup.

For some reason, I always remember the noobs more fondly than I should.

Given the formation change it would be interesting to see if Arena did that with the Gold Cup in mind...

(Keeper)
Miazga, Spector, Hedges
Ljichai, Acosta, Roldan, Garza
Arriola, Morris, Saief

That makes sense, I forgot that you can make changes after the group stage.

I was legitimately happy for you when I saw he was called up, Blaise. You've been keeping his name at the forefront of our collective minds for what feels like years.

I think now that Garza is fully healthy and playing consistently he & Villafana are going to be fighting it out for the starting LB spot (unless Fabian drops back to the D-line). The GC should be a good proving ground for both of them.

Not sold on the prospect of a 3 man back-line. In general I don't think we have the speed, positional awareness or distribution to play that type of formation. IMO the only way we'd see it is if we had another rash of injuries/suspensions at the Outside back positions...and then only if we had someone like Cameron to organize it.....(RCB - Birnbaum/Miazga/EPB, CB - Cameron, LCB - Brooks/Besler/CCV). I just don't think any of the others have enough experience to properly organize things. Additionally this is a formation in which Gonzalez cannot/should not be on the field. His ball-watching would be too great a liability.

Right on Tyler kitchen!

As for the rest of the roster, should've called in the youngsters instead of same old players and the garbage MLS players. I've barely watched MLS this year....

Players that should've been called in:

Haji Wright
Aron Johannsson
Timothy Tillman
CCV
and a bunch of youngsters I don't feel like naming

Why in the world should ArJo have been called in?

He has more future upside than Wondo (You asked the question)
