Very disappointed to hear that Saief has left camp with a groin injury. Was looking forward to seeing what he could bring to the squad, and where he'll fall in the depth chart. Guess this'll have to wait until the next set of qualifiers or friendlies.
Equally disappointed in who Bruce call in as a replacement. We all know what Pontious brings....another older player who's reached their peak a couple years ago, and is now a wasted roster spot.

Not a fan of McCarty. I think he's fine against mid level sides, but against quicker and/or more talented sides I don't believe he has the ability to compete. Guessing that we'll see what happens when we get to the knockout rounds.

I know some (media) sang Zusi's praise at RB against Ghana....but I still see him struggle with his positional awareness. If Lichaj can't unseat him as the starting RB in the GC than we're back to a 2 horse race (Yedlin & Chandler), until one of the young players break through.

Personally I never wanted Fabian to be moved into the midfield. I always though that we had more potential options at the wide midfielder positions (Pulisic, Nagbe, Lletget, Gooch, Arriola, Green, Zardes, Manneh, & now Saief) than we do at LB. I'm a firm believer in building a team from the backline forward. If you've got a strong defense you can take more chances (inexperience) at positions further up the field. Not ready to chuck Villafana yet, but he'll need to sharpen up in a hurry if he's going to hold onto even a back-up slot.

Amen at everything @Dave said.

MCCarty doesn't have the quality or athleticism to compete against better sides.

Zusi doesn't offer what Chandler or Yedlin does at RB.

Pontius is a waste of roster spot.

Sauef was the player I wanted to see most.

hopefully Miazga gets a shot. He's the most talented cb on the roster
