Really fun topic. Hopefully avoids the usual negativism that runs rampant on these boards. For me there can be only one (hmm maybe they make a movie based on that comment), caliguri goal against T&T to get us back into World Cup. I remember watching on tv after years of struggling to find an English broadcast of soccer seeing it live and the drama and relief of qualifying (incidentally helped in no small part with expansion in 1982, for those decrying it, and Mexico being ineligible). I screamed myself hoarse and felt tears welling up in my eyes. It is what started new era of accessibility to real soccer for fans in the USA. For me easily the greatest goal scored in my time watching usmnt

I'm guessing you're older than me. It's interesting, because that goal, I was too young really, 8 years old to appreciate it for what it meant for us.
I can imagine it meant to your generation... we belong in the world cup.
I feel like the Jones goal said... we belong here on this pitch... against YOU.

For me it was one of three
1) the own goal in the Colombia game.
2) The Donovan 02 goal against Mexico
3) The Dempsey goal against Spain from a great pass from Fielhaber

Donovan 02. That goal helped turn the table. We had a decent start to the decade but that goal helped the tides change in our favor. Imagin the imoact that had on a town almost full of mexicans. Like 90% or so. In a border city. I rubbed it in forever. Still do as a matter of fact. They were already singing victory lol.

Dempsey's opener against Ghana in the last World Cup because of how shocking it was and how nuts we went. Feilhaber's volley to beat Mexico in the 2007 Gold Cup, Beasley's last minute winner against Korea in the 2002 Gold Cup, Donovan's goal in the friendly against Guatemala before the 2013 Gold Cup, beautifully assisted by Holden (what could have been) all come to mind.

1. Donovan Algeria
2. Jones Portugal
3. Altidore Spain
In '02 I had just started watching soccer and didn't understand the gravity of it. I thought it was just like a March Madness upset.

1. Donovan vs Algeria
2. Clint vs Ghana
3. Jones vs Portugal
Donovan is a no brainer. Plus it gave us the greatest Cantor call ever.
Feilhaber vs Mexico as I was in the stadium for that.
I can also recall acting like a maniac when I thought Beasley had scored against Italy in '06, only for the ref and linesman to rule it out.
The Bob Wood dummy to Morris back to Wood for the smash winner vs Holland was also a quality goal of recent vintage.

Donovan 02 vs Mexico because of the rivalry & how Mexico always look down on us
We'll win it all, some day

1. Donovan goal vs algeria. Great call on Cantor.
Other memorable ones Donovan vs mexico 2002, Charlie Davies goal at Azteca, Eric wynalda goal vs Switzerland 94. Also Dempsey early goal vs Ghana 2014.

Lot of good ones already mentioned and they all rank high on my list as well. Another favorite of mine, from a pure aesthetic standpoint, was Fabian's goal against Turkey in 2014. Draws the defender, passes to Bradley who chips the back line perfectly into FJ's run for a one-time finish on the half volley with his left foot.
