Birmingham's manager has stated that Jonathan Sepctor will leave the club to join MLS. Solid pickup for the league and it could be Sepctor's route back into the MNT picture.

Welcome home Johnny. So much has changed since you left. That moron was re-elected. A freaking black guy name Hussein Osama or something like that served 2 terms. And wait until you see the shit that's about to go down tomorrow. . .

skangles - I've not seen Spector play for a really long time. I know he's been used as an outside back, center back, and even a CDM....but what has he been playing recently?
Do you truly believe that he's got a chance to make it back to the national team...because frankly we've a number of options at CB & CDM type players, and while we are a little thin at Outside Back I can't see him beating out Yedlin, Fabian, Lichaj, or even Chandler. And if Rosenberry or Zusi perform even decently in the upcoming games he'll need to overtake them as well.

Just saying he'll need to show a lot better than the last couple games I watched him in to even have an outside chance of an invite.

There's a big RB sized hole in Chicago, his hometown.... as it looks like we want to compete for a change, I'd love to see him start his MLS career in red. Basically asking for it to happen, and would upgrade the professionalism within the team. Also plays a style that Paunovic uses, it'd be a good fit.

Dave, I haven't watched much Birmingham City recently, I've only had the chance to see him a few times and from what I have seen they were using him at RB.

My comment about this could be his route back to the MNT has less to do with his recent individual play and more to do with the lack of quality RBs in MLS and the fact that it will now be easy for Bruce to track him. Rosenberry is a nice prospect and he might be the longer-term answer at RB, he's a good 1v1 defender that can get forward. He had a great rookie season and hopefully he looks even better in year 2 but he's not quite there yet as an international player in my opinion but we should get a chance to test that hypothesis over the next two weeks.

If Spector looks like one of the better RBs in MLS there's no doubt that Bruce will give him a look. I don't know if the same holds true if he stays in Birmingham which similarly could be a challenge for Lichaj to get a look. The Gold Cup will give us a good glimpse into how Bruce plans to approach to the roster and how beneficial it is to play in MLS under an Arena led MNT.

I remember when he signed with United but I had no recollection of it being during Bush's first term.

Unrelated but since you mentioned outside backs in Chicago I know you have Vincent at LB but any chance the Fire bring Beasley home?

I think Vincent may have been a poor pick last year he was simply average. A Mulligan is in order because of how bad the team was, but he needs to rebound. I'd love to see Beasley end his career where it started. He's still better than Vincent currently. I'm looking forward to the season.

The young soccer careers of Rubio Rubin and Brady Scott are headed in completely opposite directions.
