I'll add this one too. Its basically the same video as cudevil's, but with a bit better image quality. Same set of goals for the most part.

More tripe. Of course it means Jozy was better when a BETTER TEAM TAKES HIM ON A TRANSFER. It's amazing that something so obvious needs to be said.

Nova doesn't look anywhere near as big as Jozy and doesn't display any level of physicality in the matches that I've seen (albeit in limited viewings).

Never seen Jozy separate from a defender in space? Sure, ok.

Higher quality goals? Ok, whatever.

Call me Nova produces like some of these:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8pJGwEY6EA

Just tap ins, right? Completely clownish takes.

A better team taking you on a transfer just means they projected you to be better.
Again, what makes you better is what you do on your own and how you respond to adversity.

When Jozy has been on a bottom table team or had limited service, he's been ineffective period (Hull and Sunderland).
Nova is still developing and at this pt is averaging a goal every 3 games on a mid to bottom club where he is getting less service than Jozy did.

Regarding size, ppl look smaller than they actually are on a television lol.
Nova is definitely 3 inches taller.

Nova scored quality goals against Eredivisie leaders PSV and top 4 team Utrecht when Fortuna was bottom of table.

And I can pull up Nova highlights as well where he scored every kind of goal Jozy used to in his glory days.

I know this is tough for you fanboys, but outside of Jozy's wonder yrs at AZ 5 yrs ago, he hasn't accomplished much.

Wow. A bunch of PK's and tap ins like you rip Jozy for in the Dutch second division, a division lower than MLS.

You also realize the Jozy was younger than Nova is now when he joined AZ, right?

If you want to argue that Jozy didn't accomplish much other than his 2 years in AZ, fine, whatever. But you are absolutely beclowning yourself in any attempt to argue that Nova is as good as Jozy was at the same age. It's not even close.

Nova just turned 22. At this age Jozy had failed at Villarreal been demoted to
Xerez in second division and failed again, then was demoted to Burlaspor in Turkey and failed again lol. Went to Sunderland in Premier League and you guessed it failed again and was demoted to Eredivisie. Jozy had his biggest success between 22-24 in Eredivisie, then was a wash from there on so no you can't say Jozy was better than Nova at this age lol, but good try.

And I also noted that Nova has scored against 2 of the top 4 teams in Eredivisie.

Actually Jozy went to the Eredivise first, scored a shit ton of goals for AZ Alkmaar, top 5 strikers in Holland during his time there. Then he went to Sunderland, and scored like one premier league goal in 1.5-2 seasons. Jozy isn't a top 4 or 5 league striker. His level is anywhere from MLS and Liga MX, to Eredivise.

I think this comparison underscores the need to go to places that have faith in young players and are willing to let them showcase their talent if they're ready. Jozy didn't fail at Villarreal. I just don't necessarily think he got a fair opportunity. Additionally you have to go to places where your style of play fits the league and the club. Jozy has the skill set to do well in the Bundesliga. I would like to see him go back to Europe one more time because he'll show his quality and find success as long as he's in the right situation.

Hahaha this is a joke, right?

You legitimately just provided a highlight reel of tap-ins and PKs (which is what you claim all of Jozy's goals are, and consistently try to use as proof of his lack of ability) against competition that's realistically on par with USL. There wasn't even a single goal where he combined with other players via a one-two.

And Nova scored against PSV and Utrecht is supposed to show hes better than Jozy? Jozy did the same thing dude, what are you even talking about?

If you genuinely think that's proof/an example of Nova being better than Jozy (at this point in their respective careers), then you really are a moron. Come on dude... do better.

The kid has to prove he can be an attacking threat and that opposing defenders need to take him serious. Also, take his chances when he gets them. I don't see him scoring beautiful goals but he needs to take advantage of the service he gets. It may be that one open header or loose ball in the box that he gets each game but he has to put it away. Right now, he doesn't have the experience and confidence to think he will get 4-5 chances a game. But hopefully in due time.

If you want to ignore all the goals that were shots from distance, volleys, and required beating defenders 1v1, you're every bit the fanboy everyone thinks you are.

His goals against PSV and Utrecht were class and you can google them in their leisure.

The point is Jozy was a serviceable player on a good team that provided him lots of opportunities 5 yrs ago. Since then, he's been shit and you're still on his dick which makes no sense to me.

This kid is 7 yrs younger than Jozy playing at a higher level, scoring goals and still has a chance to become a respectable international and you want to tell us Jozy is better because of who he was 5 yrs ago, which is bullshit.

Nova has scored within the past yr against top level teams and Jozy hasn't played against top level teams in 3 yrs, it should be a no brainer, but fanboyism trumps logic.

Tell me this, who is the last 30 yr old mls player who transferrrd to a top league.
Just 1 lol.

You do realize that this thread is about Haji Wright... right?

Just stop man. Seriously. You continue trolling the boards with nonsense and keep trying to turn any point about almost every player into a rant about either Jozy or US fanboys. It's getting old.

Jozy was a stud. His injury problems have prevented him from a full Nats career.

As he's gotten older he's gotten worse. But young Altidore was a stud. It's hard to shy away from the reality the USA midfield has been weak and uncreative- Jozy and the other guys not named Sargent need the midfield to be better. They are finishers but not creative players. Jozy can't make a shot for himself but he's a decent player with a role to play. In my opinion Haji Wright would do well to better Altidore. As for Nova, he's a Midwestern beast from Wisconsin with great foot skills for a big guy. But he needs the service too.

Lol, you can't ask someone to stop because you don't agree or like what they're saying.
This whole Nova topic came about, because @2tone said he was top 4 in the pool then you tried to drag Nova.
Don't be a hypocrite. Don't tell us to stay on topic when you stray away.
Then you tried to drag Sargent which is also not Haji lol.
You can try to drag young Euro players all want and praise MLS players, but I'm not letting it slide and it is the definition of fanboying.

I was referring to non camp cupcake matches. Can't have a player who doesn't look up to cross the ball on the National team.
