Looks like he is spending the winter break with Shalke's first team. With Shalke sitting mid table wonder if he finds getting first team minutes as the season progresses.

Good on him, hope he can pull a Pulisic and get some minutes going into the spring.

Haji has had such a roller coaster last couple of years. I remember he was the star of the U17 group a few years back, and was supposed to be our next big thing (turned out to be Pulisic). Then he went from a top dog to a scape goat as he struggled through the world cup qualifying. Then he goes to Schalke and looks to be back on track but goes straight to reserves with no real talk of becoming a 1st teamer. Now all of a sudden hes dominating the reserve league ( he owes McKinnie some thanks) and could be a bundesliga starter by the fall.

i love his game, whatever Pulisic has that he doesn't, he makes up for with stature and athleticism.

and the best part is they both will play for us (giggles)

I wonder how far away Weston McKenney is from getting a look as well.

Haji with two more goals today. That gives him 8 in 14 starts. With his winter break inclusion for training, Shalke being firmly mid table this year, and his performance I wonder if we are closer to his inclusion in their senior squad.

Agree....and adding a goal scorer to a team that struggles to score goals, it will make all the sense in the world in a month or two.

Needs to keep pushing so that him and the other american weston can get 1st team minutes. If so then they are right in the national team doors.

What a huge goal to get some confidence early in the season. Haji really only need 5-6 goals and 15-20 appearances to make this a good loan. Anything more than that and I'd think he's guaranteed to get a chance at Schalke (or picked up by another BL team). It's a long season but man what a start!

Anyone know if Schalke have a Jan recall option. I know that is popular with EPL teams. Not sure if German teams do that. If he has a hot fall and Schalke needs some help could see them turn to him if its an option. Chelsea does it seemingly every year with at least one player
