I'm listening to the press conference announcing Onalfo as LAG head coach.

I can't tell if he's nervous, or not that smart, or both . . . ?
He's misspoken a few times.

Hopefully it's just nerves.

He was a disaster in DC back in 2010. That was a long time ago, he only lasted half a season and United were hardly lighting the world on fire in either 2009 or 2011 but I am really underwhelmed by this signing.

Our front office is a bit weird, too, I think.
Even if you're going for an affordable coach, how is he the best affordable coach available??

But hey Jermaine Jones should be an upgrade over Gerrard. I like that move a lot for the Galaxy.

Now there's a statement that I never thought that I would say.

I like JJ for my club more than country.
I have no damn idea what position he plays anymore.
He's like an "energy line" player in hockey.

Well I think we all saw JJ coming to LA there were many rumors even before the expansion draft funny how mls rules work lol. Anyways I would of prefer going young there but honestly I don't think JJ will play most games in fact I think someone else will take over his position midway trough the season. We all know Galaxy is gonna bring some big player names specially with 3 free DP spots open.

3 free DPs? What about Dos Santos?

Can't wait to see JJ. I guess it's all a matter of the rate of his decline, but he was huge for NE, then Colorado over the last 2 years.

And can't wait to see the couple of DPs that I'm sure LA will get. you'd have to think we'll start out better on paper than last year, although Onalfo, yeah, a drop.

His position is a box-to-box "steal a ball, rip a shot from 30 yards out, and scream at the sky whether he makes it or misses".

I don't know what number that is in classic footy.

Good luck w/ that - at this point in his career, and with his injury history the last few seasons, I'd set the over/under at 14 games played for JJ next year. And that's assuming LA ponies up the money he's looking for.

You're probably right. The LA front office is weird with that.

theyve used allocation money to buy him down in past years. With the allocation amount going up I'd imagine they'll be able to do that again. Possible jones salary is close enough to buy down too. I wouldn't be surprised if a big time guy (semi regular for Germany, Spain, or England) gets brought over before the season starts

Actually Jones to LA isn't sitting well with me because LAG just has his rights for a 1st round pick, and Jones is probably insisting on being a DP, which is fucking insane.

He can still walk to a different league.
