The next time Jozy suits up for the US will be his 100th cap and he will be the 17th player in US History to achieve the milestone.

If the stakes weren't so high I'd give him the Armband to honor the occasion but as it will likely be Bruce's first game with the team Bruce can't afford to mess about.

It may be a while before we see another American player achieve 100 caps. Yedlin, Zardes, Wood and Brooks are the best candidates and Yedlin leads the way out of that bunch with 43 caps. By the way Pulisic already has 11 caps which sort of blew my mind.

Jozy's next match is likely to be during Camp Cup Cake. Since it's a friendly and usually against fairly weak competition I don't think it'd be much of a gamble to hand him the armband to honor the occasion.

Over the last 8 yrs the USMNT has averaged 18 matches per year (lowest 13, Highest 24) Using the lowest number of matches played per year and age 30 as the when they begin to be phased out these are the players with the best chance of reaching the century mark from the current pool....

Pulisic 11 Caps @ 18 yrs old...167 caps by age 30
Yedlin 43 Caps @ 22 yrs old....147 caps by age 30
Green 7 Caps @ 21 yrs old....124 caps by age 30
Brooks 29 Caps @ 23 yrs old...120 caps by age 30
Morris 12 Caps @ 22 yrs old...116 caps by age 30
Zardes 31 Caps @ 25 yrs old....96 caps by age 30
Wood 29 Caps @ 25 yrs old...94 caps by age 30

Obviously this depends on players staying healthy and in form, but then again the better our team is, the greater the chances that our best players have to earn more caps per year.

Congratulations to Jozy. Joe-Max Moore I definitely didn't think of; he got to exactly 100 caps, almost a quarter (23) of which were in 1993, when he was fresh out of UCLA and we were playing friendly after friendly with no pro league and a World Cup we were hosting to prepare for.

From this list Id order them by likelihood as follows:

Pulisic - Barring injury he's a given.
Yedlin- Cant believe he already is over 40 caps. Lack of options help him.
Brooks- Injury risk but when healthy the clear best CB in our pool CCV, EPB, Miazga could push if injuries keep coming up but CBS also stay around longer then other field positions.
Wood- May be behind the eight ball now but looks like he could be in the lineup most days. Id give him a 25% shot.
Morris- Tough competition. May not get many caps in the next 2 years. After that we'll see where he stands and what the forward pool looks like.
Green- Cant believe he's only 21. Long ways to go but the talent could throw him back in there quickly.
Zardes- I bet he doesnt make it to 50 caps, nevermind 100. Too many others have already passed him by and a wave of other guys (Perez, Akale, Lennon, Embossie, Mckinnie, Wright, de la Torre, etc) are nipping at his heels

The young soccer careers of Rubio Rubin and Brady Scott are headed in completely opposite directions.
