In case you've forgotten, the German NT absolutely blew when JK took over (the '02 team didn't beat a single decent team all tournament, and their Euro '00 and '04 teams were a total disaster). He completely changed their style of play and laid the foundation for the years to come. Podolski, Schweinsteiger, Loew, these guys were complete unknowns when JK took over. And by the way, with far superior squads, Loew didn't win anything until four tournaments later. There's a reason he got hired at Bayern Munich next (after his first choice-the US-turned him down).

Getting the USNT to play quality soccer (2013-2014) for the first time in its history is a huge accomplishment for a manager, but completely revamping a dying national team and laying the groundwork for future success is probably an even bigger one. JK may not be a world class coach but he is hands down the best manager we ever had and is far better than anyone that would actually consider coaching us. The names that people throw around are hilarious. You guys are delusional if you think that one of the MLS coaches will get us to play any better, and even more delusional if you think someone like Bielsa would head our way. (He's the only manager out there willing to take on 'projects' seemingly beneath his CV, and even then, I don't think the USNT would be appealing to him at all.)

This cycle hasn't been very good but JK booked himself a ticket to Russia after how amazing last cycle went (and putting in a decent performance at the Copa America). We're going to qualify, we're going to be fine, and it's way too early for the pitchforks.

No, not buying it. German soccer in crisis in 2004? Shit, we could be so lucky. Taking the USMNT to the 2nd round of the last WC is a better accomplishment if you ask me. I think we'll qualify this time too. With or without Klinsy. Like I said, it would be hard not to. T&T blows ass. All we need to do is beat out 1 of the other 5 teams. Not like I'd be sacred of playing some crap Asian team.

JK is fine as a coach. He's not bad. I just don't like him personally and would be happy to see him go. And as many of us on these forums have suspected for years there's some kinda weird man love thing going on w/ the dwarf so Klinsy would have to hit someone to get fired.

Why are the JK supporters here talking about one bad thing at a time, like it's an isolated event?
WHY DO YOU REFUSE TO ADD THE EVENTS TOGETHER?
How many F for morale performances do we have to have before you declare the guy poison? It doesn't matter what his upside is if he's poison.

And to be completely fair DragonEagle, That 2011 team was THE MOST dangerous team we've ever had with players fitting their natural positions and doing their individual jobs and having an identity of the counter attack. It's another Mandela effect question, what if Cherundolo never got injured in that gold cup final...what would this team look like today.... Bob Bradley was FINALLY on to something when he made shocking call ups that nobody understood but himself but the thing is HE BENEFITED from his decisions 100% He would still be coach if cherundolo had not gotten hurt. all of Klinsmann's head scratching decisions literally stay that way. He has never made a shocking call up that has benefited this team in any way.

although I am leaning to JK getting the axe, you could certainly argue that playing green, brooks, and yedlin in the world cup was shocking--

also the point could be made if cameron wasn't hurt we would not have changed the back line and thus would not have changed formations. I am a fabian guy and always wanted him forward but the guy has a laid a brick the last couple of games, but most people wanted Fabian forward it was logical to try it as you know he plays that position for a decent club, I am not a chandler guy but the decision to start him shouldn't have been to weird the guy plays well for a good club team-but yet he laid a brick for the NATS.

again, i think it maybe time for jk to go but you have to look at the players, and 1st place to look is our midfield. Bradley, jones. It will not matter if Arena or anyone is our coach if you can not have some control in the middle or be able to connect 2 forward passes in a row on the ground then we will not move forward as a team.

Finally we have some attacking youngsters who are technical-green, wood, AJ, Pulisic, gooch, ariola, morris

We have a good core in the backline. But we need 2 guys to step up big time to make our midfield work, Stank ? Kitchen? Hyndman, williams? Morales,?

Our goal should be playing young mids in all of the upcoming friendlies.

We just came off a semi final run in the Copa America......................

And took a substantially better Belgium side to extra time in the knockout round of the WC...............

We topped the Hex by 4 points in 2013................

In the last 18 to 24 months, which is a long damn time and all part of one cycle, Klinsmann has done a crap job. Copa America was an upside, but we still basically beat teams we should beat, and lost to teams we shouldn't.

2013 Hex and 2014 WC have to be outside the window of comparison right now. We have had some terrible performances since then, and tactics and morale have been a big part of that terribleness, as has player selection/grooming/cycling.

Pick your fuckin' mic up, sukka.

Everyone is losing their minds over a result that has happened every time we played CR in WCQ. It's been 3-1, 3-0, or 2-0 at their place going all the way back. If Jurgen loses at home vs Honduras then come talk to me.

This is a good analysis, what about this?

Last cycle, we beat Mexico at home, and in CR we dropped the egg, but not only did we NOT get the goal, after and albiet better first half, whcih is something we're not focusing on.... we didn't look like a team torn apart, or as Alejandro Moreno was saying, a team that looked like they didn't want to give an effort anymore. Honestly, I think it's John Brooks flubbing about 3 of those goals... He had a terrible game, overreacting would be "Brooks is no longer a good CB, regardless of where he plays"

I feel like a measured assessment is, Bradley Jones are getting stale and make JAB and any CB life more difficult... Pulisic is our best player, best skilled you take him in out and sub in a player like him hoping to change the game...

These are already strikes against him that he's had for awhile, it seems like he's not willing to change on those.

Whoever says that we're not in trouble yet... you're absolutely rgiht. We have plenty of points on the table to win. Plenty of time. What those who defend Klinsmann, w/ re to his job security are saying is that we should wait until we drop 3 to 4 games, THEN worry. I refuse to believe that. By the time 4th game rolls around, and if we only have 1 to 3 points...We're looking at a tough situation. Changing Klinsmann now isn't move in order to punish him, it's to save us from that predicament.

Lazio[edit]
On 6 July 2016, Bielsa was appointed manager of Italian Serie A club Lazio.[30] However, just two days later, on 8 July, Bielsa quit as the club's manager,[31] prompting Lazio to issue legal action against Bielsa for breach of contract, suing him for €50 million.[32]

BIESLA IS IN LEGAL TROUBLE

GULATI, YOU IS A LAWYER!!!

TRUMP MAKE THIS DEAL HAPPEN!!!

The Gold Cup last year did happen. I know we all want to forget it because we played poorly and the tournament was a farce. But you can't ignore that tournament and include something that happened in 2013. I agree if anyone is saying fire Klinsmann over one result, it's silly. But it's not just the one match, it's an accumulation of issues that have peaked in the 2015 Gold Cup, losing the Confed Cup playoff, losing at Guatemala and this wretched start to the Hex.

The only thing shocking in that world cup was not including Donovan.

You want people to take feelings out of the equation on certain aspects but can't get past yours for Donovan being left out. Looking at the roster objectively Donovan didn't deserve to be there. Out of shape and even admitted he couldn't play the whole game and would take longer to recover.

I am not defending JK here. The Costa Rica game was a disaster. From top to bottom. The starting line up was the correct lineup for the most part in my opinion. I would have changed Gonzalez but that is probably a personal preference. Just never seen much in the guy. Could have argued Yedlin as well but Chandler had a good second half against Mexico. Substitutes should have come sooner and been different. I can usually see some point in his subs but not this game.

I have said it before but the players deserve just as much blame. I don't care if you say JK lost the locker room. You should still have pride not to look that bad. I don't see how anyone could just give up especially when representing your country.

When Tim Howard goes on the record as saying Donovan was a top 2 player in the camp before the selections were made ( you can clearly google his quote) then yes that is shocking. It has nothing to do with emotions and EVERYTHING to do with FUCKING COMMON SENSE. When Arena becomes the manager again and brings him back, and cuts back on Howard for being a turn coat, ( saying it was all business AFTER JUST SAYING Donovan was top 2 in camp) don't say i didn't tell ya so.

My theory is that many did an Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind bit re: the 2015 Gold Cup. That's the most logical explanation.
