Wow that was bad. Klinsmann should not coach another game he brought in a lot of younger guys to the talent. However the issue is it seems he has failed to recognize issues with this team. Jones and Bradley does not work at all in the midfield. Bradley at cdm just does not work.
Jones is getting older and looked dead/slow. Gonzalez boy was he bad I mean he has the tools but the mental side of the game he doesnt have. Chandler boy he keeps shitting the bed should not be in a us uniform its yedlins postion to lose. Besler at lb made no sense and for this game it made no sense. Gotta introduce guys like nagbe and feilhaber can klijestan get introudced into staring 11 need to find players who can keep possesion. Well we got to fix a bunch of things hopefully we get the coaching search right. Change begins at the top gotta get rid of gulati before we get a new coach.

Brooks and jones shouldn't be near the national team next games along with chandler.
BESLER and Gonzo should be our CBs and want to see a bit more of birbaum and miazga. Also villafana should get a look.

I don't think Klinsmann deserves to be fired, but at this point, if we lose a home game, I think it puts us in peril, and truthfully, I think we might lose the next home game.

When things go bad, it's always players vs coaches, and Klinsmann refuses to sit Bradley and Jones, even out of spite. Then the pettiness with Nagbe, Feilhaber, and for a time Klesjtan, I think all cumulatively it's been too much. I personally think he's been the best US MNT manager ever, because in the end a home run hitter is better than a 320 340 slap hitter. He's had MULTIPLE lows (strikeouts) but his accomplishments outweigh everyone's sans Bradley who also got lambasted in the media.

In the end I think he's the best US MNT, because personally speaking, viewing OPS, other metrics a guy who can deliver on big results on occasion not only gets rewarded more often, is often the better more important player.

And that picture means nothing really, that analogy is perfect, your premise is wrong but funny. My theory, THERE or analogy would be that if you lay down on top of a bigger base, you will be supported.

You can make the case that cats don't fly to begin with, but Managers and power hitters alike have to produce, so there is an equivalence there to compare the first condition to.

You can make the meme with two birds, but then unless the top bird is latched to the bottom bird the way that the shuttle is latched to the jet, that model too breaks down. Also, a bird latched would have to have its wings extended to maintain aerodynamic properties, a shuttle, in theory, is naturally aero.

But all in seriousness, or maybe just half-heartedly so, if Klinsmann would have won the world cup, we could have lost Gold Cups in the group stage and I think the majority of us would have been fine with it. Or am I making too many assumptions here?

Well that certainly isn't the way most of us were expecting the last week to go! I don't see how JK keeps his job after this...the ONLY reason would be if the USSF is too cheap to buy him out & pay for a new coach (an unfortunate and realistic possibility).

JK has had his ups and downs as a manager but it looks like the team quit on him last night (and vice versa). If this is the end, I'd say big picture his tenure could be considered a moderate success. He brought a good deal of talent into the fold and did get some good results but he was also too stubborn (or blind) to see his mistakes, always deflecting blame...

Ultimately, the job of the manager is make the sum equal to or greater than the individual parts. To breed cohesion. We saw that from CR last night and I think that's the biggest failure under JK. The psychological games, playing guys out of position, tinkering with formations, his insistence or refusal to call certain players up regardless of form, et al. finally came crashing down last night. He, too often, doesn't put his players in a position to succeed which is a shame because on paper, we have a talented team capable of a lot more than we've seen lately.

Losing to Mexico I get, it's a tough pill to swallow but they're a good team. Getting blown out of the water by CR while showing zero heart is something I don't get. At all.

I say blow the s&*t up. I am tired of defending JK and MB...there is a big problem with this team and they both are culpable.

Let's start integrating the youngsters we know can play and build this team around Pulisic as our #10. Forget Howard and Guzan...Horvath IMHO is just as good. Let's find a place for CCV...either in a back three with Cameron and Brooks or as a holding DM.

As a stopgap, I would agree to bring back Feilhaber into the central midfield...he at least can pass the ball. I am not a big Altidore fan but I think he usually plays his heart out and deserves to keep his place.

If Pulisic isn't ready to take on the mantle of being our "talisman", I think Torres and Gil deserve another look...we need a little more of a Latin mentality.

I say if he comes back to almost full strength try Zardes as a wingback. In fact, why not this:

Horvath
Cameron, CCV, Brooks
Yedlin, Kitchen/Williams, Feilhaber, Zardes/FJ
Pulisic
Wood, Altidore

Cameron becomes new captain

The play the epitomized the game was Omar Gonzalez slowly getting over to "close down" Bolaños with his cross for the first Costa Rican goal. It was a lazy, timid effort by Omar and the team. He should never be called up again.

It's time to end the Jürgen era I think this was the one. With months to go before our next competitive game, the new manager would have plenty of time to make a plan for the final 8 games of the Hex.

Lastly, Michael Bradley needs to also step aside and let someone else captain the team and play in the midfield. I think we've seen the old guard of Jones, Bradley, Gonzalez and even Howard for hopefully the last time.

It was very obvious we missed the swagger and on field leadership of Clint Dempsey, the legend.

I am sure some of this is probably just projecting my personality on others but I keep hearing JK has lost the lockerroom. This very well could be the case. Not sure how that is an excuse for how the team played though. I had coaches I absolutely didn't like but pride kicked in and played my heart out. There were several players last night that blew my mind. Watching Gonzalez basically walk over to close down a player on the end line set me off. When Jones checks out he gets reckless or completely disappears. I hate calling out a couple of players in a game where nothing went well really but those were the 2 I kept thinking about.

I agree with most of what you said, but do you feel that Pulisic has that swagger, just we didn't get the ball to him enough, again to your points about the midfield?
