Midfield but shoudl have been red. Birnbaum is standing up and gets kicked in the top of the head.

Sounds about right.

Lololol what are they doing? Complaining?

Yup and I am sure Twellman sees himself in that situation since Birnbaum has had some concussion issues.

Yeah, Twellman is very sensitive about concussions and I bet he is sensitive about the criticism of Windows since he was his days Wondo. A dude who could bang in goals left & right in MLS but at the national team level he found every way not to score.

So if he was on this forum, he would not be happy with some of the Wondo haters.

How does half of ussoccer still have a job?

The field selection over the last few years has been embarrassing at best.

Klestjan once again was a bit of a soft touch and I still feel like a Kitchen type player should be out there. Bob Wood missed two or three blatant passes I recall, one for Green and one for Altidore where those players would've been in, but instead Wood lacked vision for the pass. Speaking of Green, he needs to learn to go to his left as well, but it was obvious to me he's not really a wing player and tried to come inside too much. Wondo of course did well. People say he's never played well but that's not true. Against CONCACAF teams he's actually pretty good. And he only really played against Argentina, his historic miss against Belgium was in about 30 mins of action where he did look dangerous. Ethan Horvath is not the #3 keeper, he was poor I thought.

No, I wasn't talking about the kick to the head. Towards the end, Twellman was cracking himself up because he wanted Darke to tell the listening audience how Darke left his car running for 3 hours in the parking lot.

I mean...they just couldn't be bothered at the end. Zero fucks given.

Dull and nearly worthless match. Americans were basically playing at 3/4 speed. The most notable activities were players trying to avoid injury. The only positives from the match were a reminder of how bad field conditions are in CONCACAF and a couple of young players getting scrimmage level playing experience.

According to SBI Wondo was named the "Man of the Match" for his goal & assist. When he entered the game I was afraid that something like this would happen. Wondo's goal was a rebound from a shot that Green created by cutting inside. Morris was already in position to knock the rebound in when Wondo circled into his path for the goal. On the assist he did what all other forwards do....brought down a long ball and laid it back towards the penalty spot where Green knocked it into the back of the net.

While I'm happy we won....I almost wish we hadn't since the media & some fans will use this as a justification for continued call-ups for Wondo.

Green a guy who hasn't seen the field all season gets the start over say a guy like Gooch or arriola who at least are getting playing time in good leagues. Shows how jk contradicts himself often after he says players should be playing constantly at Club level and performing well. Does anyone see the dilemma there ?? Yea he scored a tap in but should he warrant a call or even more a start next game?

That's the most inconsequential USMNT game I've ever watched.

It is nice to see Green accumulating a little upper & lower body strength. That was really the only thing stopping him from becoming a great player.

Dude you find the negative in everything. You should start your post with this disclaimer...'This is what I am going to bitch about...' because all you do is bitch. He is playing at maybe the best club in the world and making the bench, you think Gooch or Arriola could do that? Do you read what you write? I doubt it. I think any national team that is not a powerhouse would select a player that makes the bench and trains daily with one of the best clubs in the world over a player who is in and out of a team facing a relegation battle and a player at a newer club in a decent league.

You should consider putting yourself on a time-out sometimes because poster boy for the phrase 'if you don't have anything nice to say then you shouldn't say anything at all' because all you do is bitch. Why don't you go cheer for Argentina already?

@dave- you've wanted to push the guy out forever, give it a rest for a day. Morris was offsides had Wondo not "stolen" it from him on the Green rebound. He also could've been selfish but got his head up and waited for Green to get in position for the 2nd goal. Fair play to most, I was more discouraged by a few than encouraged by any.

The main thing every us soccer fan should take away from this game is what steps USA and Cuba relations took i mean Joe Biden was there something had to be proposed for the future or a plan expressed. I saw this more for political reasons than a soccer match I could of cared less if USA took an all college team. Will this help the people at Cuba ? Is it gonna bring a new revolution for change ? I ask my self and others what was the purpose of this match because in no way is cuba a good test for a WCQ vs Mexico. If something good comes out of this match on the political side I will be OK with it. But until then I feel like this was a slap to the face and embarrassing for Cuba and the rest, Even with a hurricane on the horizon and horrible field conditions I felt USA did not care what anyone thought.

You should tell that to JK since he said I want players PLAYING consistently to get a senior team cal up.. Guess he should say if you also train with high profile players them you can get called to. I'm just saying he keeps contradicting himself over and over. So if I'm a very rich guy and can afford to have private training sessions with Ronaldo and messi them I definitely deserve to start for USA right. And for your information most Americans cheers for Argentina over USA we saw it in Copa America is really sad same for brazil and Mexico to.

Green was great.

The field was atrocious.

The Panamanian ref is awarded no points and may God have mercy on his soul. My god what a blown call. He shrugged and gave Cuba the advantage. Holy shit this was a CONCACAF game at its finest.
