Two more goals today for Altidore in the KNVB Beker tournament. That brings his goal total to 11 on the year in all competitions. Suffice it to say that Altidore could meet the mark I predicted for him to score 30 goals in all competitions this year. AZ won and will move onto the next round.

I would also imabgine Klinsmann will bring him back in the fold to face Russia as well.

His confidence is booming, that's for sure. If Klinsi doesn't call him up, he had better have a good reason. Despite the talk of new or younger talent to come in to that camp, I think consistently good play from Jozy should punch the ticket. Not to mention that he's a short (relative) stride from Russia as it is.

he was playing an all amateur team today, but there's no denying his form at the moment, he was great against vitesse over the weekend. problem is USMNT doesnt have quick darting attacking midfielders that can play off of him. closest thing is lando and , well, who knows how prominent either of them are in klinsis mind today

Gatt, Pontius, Bedoya, Deleon, Shea, and Gyau can change that.

Personally I think Donovan may be done. I think he walks away.

I'm hoping Landycakes doesn't make some huge, dramatic media issue surrounding his conflict with commitment and playing. I can only imagine the hype and pressure he's gone through over the last decade - however, the longer it drags out, the longer people will be more inclined to become irritated with the situation. Personally, I hope he does take some time off - if he takes a month or two and decides to come back, then good for him and best of luck. If he decides that that's it, then thanks for many years of dedicated service to your country's team and be ready for the HOF jacket and a lifetime of gratitude from USMNT fans.

To add to 2tone's note, that's a good list of wingers and potential replacements. None are at Donovan's prime level or anything, but it's encouraging to know we can be without Landon and still have excellent talent waiting to replace him and not freak out into soccer-apocalypse mode. I really like DeLeon - probably one of the more underrated guys in the picture right now.

Another stunner from Altidore yesterday. The clip is up at No Short Corners. JK needs to repair this relationship ASAP.

Earnie Stewart who is the Technical director at AZ revealed that Barcelona, Tottenham, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich have been scouting Jozy so far this season. He also revealed that a team from a prominent Eastern European capital put in a bid for Jozy this past summer. My guess either Moscow or Kiev.

stick to being a fan and let scouts do their work. Pretty much tired of seeing comments like this about usmnt players especially altidore. You can find the article at mlssoccer. I love when fans think they are experts.

I don't need to be an expert to know Jozy isn't good enough for Bayern Munich and Barcelona. I don't think Jozy is bad, I just don't think he is world class. Bayern Munich and Barcelona are for world class players.
