Akale made his 1st team debut for Villarreal coming on in the 61st minute of the friendly match against Leganés. He's still expected to spend most of the upcoming season with the reserve team, but appears as if he is getting closer to joining the 1st team.

I wouldnt be surprised if he follows the path of Pulisic last year if he plays well. Spend the fall with reserves. More 1st team training during winter break, be part of 1st team after the winter break and get a handful of appearances in the spring

@goods- no, he's 100% American from Minneapolis.... I've been waiting for him to make the breakthrough because for technical skills, Akale might have the most in our entire pool. Actually playing for Villareal would be big time in my opinion as the Spanish League is competitive for the spots 3-6. The yellow submarine is always there or around there and Akale would be in a pressure environment every day and week. I'm backing him to make it at the club.

Talented kid. U20's will be stacked for the WC next summer if they qualify and guys like EPB, Zelalem, Pulisic, and Carter-Vickes are on it. Strong possibility Pulisic and Zelalem are with the USMNT for next summers Gold Cup instead of the U20 WC team.

I seen Akale play and i honestly think he will have the longest career with the MNT even more than pulisic.. The guy is very smart and talented.. And yes he does play like messi and NOOO i am not comparing just that similar style of play, and USA has never had that kind of spark i was always upset because he didn't get called for the sub 20's WC he is much better than zelalem and others... Watch out for this kid he could be the next star for USA...

I was always upset that the people I wanted called into the U-20s were not even being considered.....

still love being right about all the players I said would be garbage !!!!
