There is no doubt he has talent and I don't follow him all that much but am I the only that doesn't think he deserves the numbers thrown around? I just don't see the dominant force when I watch him play.

I think it has more to do with numbers in general these days versus Pogba specifically. I mean...Ross McCormack went to Villa from Fulham for something around £13 million. I mean....he's been a great player in the Championship, but that is ridiculous. Transfer fees nowadays are just bonkers.

Yeah its no surprise that the two most popular sports in the world also bring in the most money for the players. The EPL is swimming in TV money right now. Just like this past NBA free agency .

Also as a United fan, it's awesome to see Pogba back in red.

This is why when Fabian Castillo gets transferred for 3mil and bradley is rumored at 5mil it drives me bonkers. You have these retreads going for 3-4 times that much.

Regarding Pogba he is not worth it. He isnt a game changer. When you play France you dont worry about how to stop him from impacting the game. He's a great player but not a "franchise" guy. Man U will likely be disappointed in him again

At the very least he's an upgrade to Fellaini though, and I have to respectfully disagree. Wasn't he the impetus behind France's beating of Germany?

Not the only one. I wouldn't put him in my top 5 players currently. But.... you're worth as much as someone is willing to pay. That said, I don't think he is worth that much.

One more ego to feed. It would be interesting to see how Rooney, Ibra, and Pogba get on for a whole season. Jose will have his work cut out keeping that locker room.

He is most definitely better than Fellani. And he is a good player. But here are some of the players who have received record/near record transfer fees:

Ronaldo, Bale, Neymar, Di Maria, De Bruyne , Higuain, Suarez, James. What do those players have in common? They are all goal scorers. All guys who are target players, and clear offensive weapons.Scoring goals is not what Pogba does. He sets the table, sets it well, but for the amount of money Man U is paying the fans will be disappointed.

Its like paying QB money to a running back. Sure he may be a good running back but you dont pay him QB money,

Bradley should be lucky to be at 5mil.

And when you watch France you worry about all 11 guys impacting the game and they are all game changers.

He's only 23 years old...

You make it seem like Man U is spending your money. They have almost 100 mil to spend and they want the best young CM in the world. This isn't impacting them from future signings. So what does it matter how much they spend.

Man U can spend their money who they want. I also am not a fan of Man U so I could care less if they finish middle table every season. Im just stating that there is no chance Pogba lives up to that contract. Pogba isnt a top 10 player in the world and he just got paid the most money ever. Those are some big shoes to fill

Unrelated to Pogba but Everton are looking to bring in Yannick Bolasie. He is a 27 year old winger from Congo. He has played 3 seasons in EPL and hasnt exactly lit it up. Everton offered 18 mil Euros and were turned down, and are holding out for 30 mil.

This kind of stuff is mind blowing to me. Here is a guy who is already had his best years, and they werent even that great, and he is worth somewhere between 18-30 million euors.

I dont think you'll find many people who would rather have Bolasie then Castillo yrt Castill goes for 3 mil. Thats just crazy to me.

To me this just shows more that there is an American bias. Now I am not saying Americans have shown well but guys are getting signed for big dollars for potential or guys like this who haven't shown well but could go for 30 mil. Yes Jozy was terrible but he scored 30 goals the previous year and only went for 10.

Beat me to it. And yes, he's going to be worth more since he's been playing in Europe and being more than adequate.

It might appear there is an American bias in Europe but to me there isn't. Should Jozy have been worth more than 10mil after scoring 30 goals? Apparently not since he couldn't score 3 in England. Count the numerous amount of players who failed coming over (Shea, Swag, Jozy) and these were once thought to be our young up and comers and future stars of the USMNT. Our top young players (Yedlin, Miazga) can't even see the pitch for their clubs.

So where is the bias? Our greatest (recent) success story is Clint Dempsey and Geoff Cameron. Yeah, no kidding our players aren't worth a damn.

Im glad you bring Cameron up. How much do you think he'd go for in a transfer? He's been successful in EPL for 4 seasons and likely has as much top quality soccer left in him as Bolaise (defenders last longer than wingers). My guess is Cameron wouldnt go for more than 3-4 mill. Why is that?
