I know NYCFC doesn't always get the best name for having the Manchester City owners but I think this is pretty neat. Hopefully LAFC or the Galaxy will do this in Los Angeles.

I still remember people thinking it would be another Chivas USA. The sense and information I have obtained being a fan and living in the City is that when NYCFC came into the league they had a deal/agreement for a stadium with the ex Mayor which was Bloomberg. He unfortunately left office and with the new Mayor, De Blasio well that went away because he thought the price agreed on was heavy tax cuts. De Blasio supports the team as he is always around these announcements and event in Yankee Stadium but he trying to get NYCFC owners to give a little more to the city, which as a resident you cant get mad at either. This is great to see for soccer in NYC. Hopefully this move is part of that agreement or requirement to obtain land in the city. Money talks big in politics as we know.

The final stretch of the English league season is upon us, with several Americans on the verge of relegation with their teams.
