I hea you. Morris really give two open net goals to deuce today. But I would rather see Morris and Wood play off each other. I have felt that when they are together it is really difficult for teams to match up against them. Plus, I think it is time to move on from Dempsey so a starter mode. But somebody needs to stay healthy and challenge him

It will never happen, but I would love to see a 3 man midfield, with Morris and Wood up top and Clint playing just behind them.

Never say never @dunlopp-

First of all Jürgen has played players out of position before (that role you describe isn't really out of position for Clint either). Secondly, our young attackers are more wide players at the moment. Third, it's a way to get the partnership of Wood and Morris going further while not benching our most influential player, Dempsey.
I think Morris has earned a callup based on his season, but I doubt he starts either game. They are too important to trust to Morris. I could see him getting substitute action once the lead has been taken but I fully expect, for these two crucial games, for Wood to be up top with Dempsey just underneath him, what worked and looked good in the Copa.

Since Bradley is suspended for the first match, and since it is against the weakest opponent, I wouldn't be surprised to see Nagbe get the start against St. Vincent.
I'd like to see a 4-3-3 formation along the following lines.....

---Pulisic-----Wood-----Zardes----
---Nagbe----Jones-----Bedoya----
-Fabian---Brooks---Cameron--Yedlin-

Subs: Kitchen for Jones, Rubin for Zardes, Villafana for Fabian

It's a team that should be very possession & attack oriented without giving up anything on the defensive side of the ball. It also gives older players (Dempsey & Jones) enough rest that they'll be able to go all out against T&T where they are more likely to be needed.

I think this is what you'll see except Dempsey instead of Pulisic.

Pulisic can sub in for Dempsey at half time, or at 60' mark when we are up by 3+ goals. Jones comes out for a CM (Kitchen is hurt. Maybe D.Williams? Maybe Stanko?). Also I wouldnt be opposed to Green coming on for Zardes instead of Rubin. Green is clearly playing some inspired football right now. Id like to see if he can carry it over to US.

I would rest Dempsey for this game and Jones. It should be an easy game, I would love to see the above, I know we will not. This is simply my lineup I would like to see.

I'm not opposed to this other than playing Besler as the LB. Nothing against Besler, hes a good player and a viable emergency/contingency LB, but I'd much prefer having an actual wide player than fielding a 3rd CB. If you want to play Fabian in midfield than I'd use Villafana as the LB.

totally agree, I only had him in there b.c the rest of my lineup had some newbies.

I would like to see villafana I have only watched him play a couple of time. I am for bringing along any new youngster to to gain experience at LB.

I still think most of our players are more comfortable in a 4-4-2 system.

Probable 23:

GK: Hamid, Guzan, Howard

D: Yedlin, Chandler, Gonzo, Cameron, Brooks, Ream, Fabian

M: Jones, Williams, Bradley, Nagbe, Bedoya, Pulisic, Zusi

A: Deuce, Wood, Green, Morris, Altidore, Zardes( if he is over his knock)

Possibles: Besler, Castillo, Birnbaum, B-man, Lichaj, Rubin( likely replacement for Zardes if not healthy), Boyd, Zelalem, Picault.

Bradley is out for the first game.

ArJo just recently started first team training it will be too soon for him.

@2tone - I think you've got a good starting point for the 23, but I'd make a couple of minor changes....1) I'd replace Ream with Besler. 2) I think you've got to many forwards/attackers. I'd therefore replace Green with Villafana.
You can take Castillo off the possibles group since he'll be out with his broken knee.

One thing to keep in mind is that pretty much every time Jurgen has played a Carribean island nation we almost always use one midfielder in defense (I believe that was Beasley's first time at LB, Bedoya in the back, Jones first time in the back). Since he knows we will control 70%+ of the ball and just need to be aware of counters we'll likely go much more offensive in the lineup. I think that will keep Fab at LB for the St V's game and then maybe drop him back vs T&T

I don't see why he would call in Ream. Bolton played their first game of the LEAGUE ONE season and he didn't start. I really hope we aren't at the point where we're calling in third division players who aren't starting...

Good thing Ream plays for Fulham then...his chances with the USMNT would be even narrower playing in League 1
