We all gotta relax we got 2 good results against mediocre teams yes we should be excited but i won't be optimistic about Russia until i start seeing good results and dominant performances against good teams. Sadly there is just 1 team in concacaf that we can measures ourselves to maybe 2 if were in the road in Costa rica or Honduras. To bad that friendly vs Ghana was cancelled that would of been a good test.
Best quote this guy has ever had possibly.

Bradley is absolutely capable of playing at a high level, but he hasn't done so in long enough that I agree its very valid to question whether he should be an automatic starter. We have guys (Danny Williams, Alfredo Morales, Perry Kitchen) who are playing every week and are at least at the level Bradley had been playing at lately. Juergen just has to be willing to step outside of his comfort zone when it comes to player selection. He's shown an unwillingness to do this so I don't expect any changes but as I said MBs play at minimum warrants consideration of the other options.

I think MB is safe through this cycle as captain and starter. He's a hybrid mid, kind of a jack of all trades king of none. He's clearly not a 10, probably more 8 than anything else...currently he's playing as a 6, but he's not athletic enough for a classic 6...especially against top 20 teams. Imo what sets him apart from the other guys is he's mentally really dialed in..extremely disciplined....reads the game at a high level and routinely makes the right decision under pressure...to me that is worth it's weight in gold... He nails the decision making. The other younger guys that play 6 don't have the answers when they get kicked up to the national level...Imo it isn't even close. His closest competition for his current role would be Cameron...if we have another RCB to pair with Brooks.

So the way JK is currently using MB is more of a deep lying distributor...a poor man's Pirlo...with as much defense as he can get out of him. It doesn't look bad...especially if you have players up field that can make an impact in the attack...Pulisic, Wood...possibly SK. All MB has to do is be the link out of the back...It is a big change from what we've seen recently with him as primary play maker or free ranging 8.

I didn't have an issue with MB in the T&T game at all. With other players getting the job done up field there was no reason for him to do anything more than get them the ball and enjoy the show. We're just not used to seeing him take such a passive role in the playmaking...never had the luxury before.

Bradley and Bedoya simply are too slow and do not have the technical ability to play fluid attacking football against quality teams ie Argentina.

Who do we have that can do that?

Blaise,

Which USMNT starting 11 do you think CAN play fluid attacking football?

I'd play Gooch, Stanko, D. Williams, Morales over Bradley and expect better quality from them without blinking.

I'd play Arriola, Gyau, Findley, or Green above Bedoya.

I'm sorry but that's crazy to think that Gooch and Stanko could step into a game against Argentina right now and out-perform Bradley. We've also seen Williams and Morales struggle against far lesser competition.

Arriola had some moments but also had numerous loose touches against T&T. Findley? Not seeing that. I'd have no problem with Gyau over Bedoya if fully healthy and playing first team football, but I don't think he's a difference maker against an Argentina. Neither is Green.

What we do know is the ceiling for bradley against quality teams is mediocre to shitty because of his limited athletic ability and slow feet.

We should at least see what the younger players can do. They can't possibly get their asses handed to them in worse.

The last time I saw d Williams play he was explosive and dynamic against brasil.

They did more than Sayef did in Israel's WCQ match...

The good news is attacking midfielder Kenny Hasan Saief didn't get cap-tied.

Limited athletic ability? I seem to recall an occasion during the T&T match where Bradley caught up to a rather speedy player. I will admit he has not been as good as he has been with the USMNT, but I think you may need to find a better argument than he has limited athletic ability as he is one of the fittest players we have.
