The problem is the coach plays scared!

#Argentina

How would you play with our limited squad? All forwards, no defenders or goalie? The best kept secret in soccer, the incredibly bold 0-0-11 formation?

I don't get it? I was saying the coach plays with scared line-ups. You do know we will get eliminated in the round of 16 again in Russia 2018 with Klinsmann as our coach!

Boink.

Blaise is a sad, sad man. No other way around it.

Dunlollipop9987 is the type guy that makes himself a character on FIFA because he sucks at soccer in real life.

I think we've seen from Arena to Bradley to Klinsmann a common thread: they all play realistic lineups. There's a reason why. Remember when Tab Ramos played open games at the 2013 u20? We got beat by Ghana and France and whatever. We weren't good enough to play an open game. Same for the full team against pretty much everyone we try it against. Chile in a 3-5-2 in a friendly. Belgium at the World Cup. We are getting better and there are a few players that are starting to make their mark. But a "scared" lineup I haven't seen that. There aren't magical unheard of USA players not on the team. There is no bigger proponent for kicking out older guys than Jürgen, who would love us to score goals and dominate people. Haven't you seen his super muppet celebrations when we score?? I doubt seriously if we had the players to attack that Jürgen would park the bus.

Actually we tied that French team. But we did lose to Ghana and Spain. Ramos didn't scout well. Both Spain and Ghana were defend and counter attack teams in that tournament.

All I will say about the match against T&T is we are playing at home so go for the kill early. No need to let T&T hang around and gain any confidence. Hopefully, Klinsmann play an attacking line-up from the start, no need to play conservative. We should dominate T&T anyway.

@2tone- I'm not sure he cared about scouting. It was about playing an open game against the best and seeing what we had. It didn't come off right for a reason. If I'm getting your point, to compete, we needed to defend and counter. But that's a "scared" lineup according to many. The point is- when we try and play at a higher level the way we play against lesser teams, we get exposed.

I'm looking forward to Tuesday and what exactly we put out there. Same thing with the October friendlies.

You can't possibly think you're playing an open game with beckerman, zusi, Wondo on the field.

No my point was that Ramos didn't really understand that both Ghana and Spain didn't care that we had possession because they both were defend and counter with their pace. We played well against France because both teams were set up as possession based teams.

What do y'all think will be the formation and starting 11 on Tuesday?

I have a feeling it will stay as a 4-4-2. Yedlin is out.

----Wood---Altidore----
Fabian---Kljestan----Bedoya
-------Bradley----
Acosta---Besler---Cam---Orozco
--------Howard-----

Subs: Pulisic, Morris, Nagbe

Why are the last two posters suggesting putting NAGBE in front of the back line?? I'm all for an attacking lineup, but....you guys.....use your brains.
