And a red card for Guatemala. Time to experiment for Jürgen. I fully expect Guzan, Cameron, Fabian and Wood to return to their clubs. No need for them in this next game. What I would like to see:

Morris/Jozy
Pulisic Sasha Arriola
Bradley
Acosta Besler Omar Orozco
Howard

Subs: Nagbe for Sasha, Rubin for Jozy, Stanko for Bradley

I say go for it do not send back Fabian or Wood. Go for broke. Would rather see Mexico in November than later on. A lovely November night in Columbus sounds about right.

Uhm more than likely it will be a Wood/Jozy starting tandem. I could see Kljestan start. I think Klinsy is still being cautious with Pulisic. Having both Morris and Pulisic come off the bench is great to have right now.

According to Thomas Rongen Pulisic is a brighter young American prospect than Dilly Duka was when he was Pulisic's age.

I've heard a lot of talk about how if we win our group we would play Mexico at home first but I haven't heard anybody mention that if we win our group we would also play Costa Rica in San Jose four days later. Costa Rica away is one of the most challenging fixtures in Concacaf.

Oh well. We play who we play. We shouldn't be scared to play anywhere.

Change Wood for Morris and have Morris sub for Jozy and I'm with you. I wanna see some Wood/Morris action like we saw against Germany and Netherlands last year

Wood-Altidore was interesting, some positives but also some negatives. Altidore does look like a different player right now and that's exciting but I really love Wood's power and pace up top.

Kljestan does seem like the best Dempsey replacement, someone who isn't relied on to defend, can play up higher and combine with a target forward or winger and can make things happen. Granted, I'd really be curious to see Pulisic there, that is where he's played with youth teams and where he says he likes to play. But that won't be happening anytime soon.

Really loved Fabian in the midfield, makes me really upset Klinsy didn't bring other LB's to try out like Lichaj or Villafana. Acosta was fine but he's not ready for that, especially since he's not playing there for Dallas. Interesting that Yedlin did very little attacking.

Bedoya looks great, solid skill, lots of range great compliment to a defensive type CM, I'll be curious to see how he and Bradley pair up next.

As much as I'd love to see Pulisic start it's quite nice to see game changing subs (Morris too) for the USA, boy there have been so many games in the past few years where it's been the 60th-70th minute and we really don't have anyone to put in who can make something happen.

Don't like Guzan not coming off his line...

I think Pulisic has to start i don't care if he is young but he is obviously our most talented player.. He just has to be on the field he drives team USA.. The kid is USA...

lolololol I am crying. I thought the same thing. Like why are you comparing Pulisic to Dilly Duka? Duka can't hold a candle to Christian but then I thought Duka was one of Rongen's guys on the u-20s, so he is going to think highly of him.

Even against Mexico, can't bring myself to cheer for them. I wonder if they're up for a little greasing of Canada's wheels on Tuesday, ship a few goals in a meaningless game, potentially to hurt Honduras.

I think there are three scenarios that could play out today.

1)US wins handily with the usual players. People say its just because its against St V's and doesnt mean anything.

2) US wins a close one. Rain says that they should have played Sacha more and almost lost because they didnt play him

3) Sacha plays, US wins big, and Rain says its all because of stache (and ignores the fact that St V's sucks).

Cant wait to see which one it is.

So we are all going with option 3. St Vs is like playing a college team. I don't want to see Sasha vs T&T. We have Bradley coming back so he will be on the ball more. Sacha showed he can be decent when there aren't any ball dominating midfielders (beckerman, bedoya). But when we have Bradley in there get him out. Lineup should be

Wood/Jozy(or Morris)
Pulisic (or arriola)-Bradley-nagbe-Zusi
Acosta-cam-besler-Birnbaum
Howard

Zusi helps cover for birbaum. Nagbe is the engine with Bradley supprotung him. Fab goes back to Germany.

Definitely option 3.

Thomas Rongen also said something very interesting:
To paraphrase him- he was talking about Acosta at LB being his position for team USA against international competition. That Acosta strikes the ball well (he did make several good crosses) with his left foot and his ability to defend. I wouldn't mind seeing that move made permanent because Fabian is better in the midfield and in the attacking third.
