I thought I had heard we would host the first HEX game in November against Mexico as long we won first in our group. Anybody else hear that?

This is true. We have a back to back home-&-home with them later on in the hex if we take 2nd

Beckerman will start? F*ck man! What's his obsession with that dude? He has given his all while in the shirt but his time is over. I like Klinsi but I always wonder what he sees in some of these players. I would love to have a conversation with him and talk about every fringe player in the pool and ask why or why aren't they part of the team.

Beckerman does not bother me here. Jones is out, Bradley is suspended and nobody has stepped up yet to be in there for an important game. Eventually Kitchen, Williams, Trapp, Stanko, Morales, etc need to step up. JK values leadership and a steady hand in that spot. I would say nobody has done that including Bradley as of late for the USMNT

Everybody would love to hear the answer to that question. I know it would generate a lot of buzz.

This is true on so many levels. We all bitch about the same call ups, but the truth is, those older players have not been pushed out yet. This year I believe we will see a big change in the make up of the senior team.

Adding on to the Beckerman discussion, Juergen said Jozy, Cameron and Guzan will start against StV&G and that Howard will start against T&T. Does the keeper comment strike anybody else as odd?

It's not unthinkable that Guatemala beats T&T, if so they'll play StV&G on Tuesday with an easy chance to qualify and we'll be battling it out with T&T for the other spot. We are in a pretty good situation but there is a chance that our World Cup run stops here so why is Juergen already talking about rotating keepers? If Guzan is number one then stick with him until we are certain that we're through to the Hex.

I really wish USA was like the Rest of the world naming their starting 11 a day or 2 before the game. I mean everyone does it i don't know why USA doesn't.

Yes that keeper comment strikes me as odd, but Jürgen has rotates these guys for awhile.

As for Beckerman, it was clear he would start with Bradley and Jones missing. For his "true grit" (well timed @Chris) as well as his positioning on the field. He and the two CBs guard the back while everyone else attacks the 10 behind the ball of StVG. It was the easiest call on the field really. The real question is- and I have beat this drum since the World Cup and even before that- will our best player, especially by Jürgens own metric (champions league starter for big club), Fabian Johnson, finally be allowed to play midfield?? I thought Besler looked good enough and why not Acosta? It would really help us connect play up the field with Fabian there. And he will be from LB this first game but like @skangles said, what about game two??

For what it's worth I think T&T will win against Guatemala.

I agree, in my "wishful" lineup I had besler at LB (prior to brooks pulling out) I thought he did a decent job there, obviously not the long term solution but I would like to see him at Lb and fabian in the mid

Well to bad half are players mainly dual's don't know our national anthem.. Thanks Kaepernik lol.... Heck even some of our born American players lol...

Well it is kinda Sad that around 61% of Americans don't know the national Anthem... It should be thought as an early age like " I pledge the allegiance " Or anything else. Should be our #1 priority.

You can blame the Millennial generation and Liberals for a lack of patriotism!

At the DNC convention, I noticed there were no American flags until day 2 (Even my boy Trump called that out). You see all the fake patriotism at Clinton rallies and can easily tell they hand out the flags to the people in back, then collect them back when the cameras are off.

At Trump rallies, republicans bring their own flags and are constantly busting out the USA USA USA chant.
