I think he'll stick with Fab at LB for a little while longer.

Also I think Jurgen considers Acosta a defender, not a midfielder.

I could see Hyndman over Williams, Jozy (Zardes as FWD) or Jones (50/50 Jones is hurt by then)

Also no shot Boyd or Arjo sniff the roster. Arjo may be going on a year without playing as it sounds like he's out for the beginning of the year. Lets see Boyd play a game too.

I think we see, if everyone healthy the same 4-3-3 we saw in the group stage, maybe Nagbe over Jones. Then if we clinch the hex after the first game then see guys like Morris, Birnbaum, Pulisic get the starts

How bad does that loss to Guatemala look now. While they are pretty much in there with a win and T&T win. But the fact you need a win, even against a minnow, JK will need to bring some more experienced players along. I really do not see anything wrong with your list, however this is the lineup that would be there without the fart of Guatemala

GK: Horvath, Hamid, Yarbrough
Defense: Vilafana, Yedlin, Brooks, Birnbaum, Besler, Shea, Miazga, Alvarado (RB)
DM: Jones, Kitchen, Trapp, Polster
Mid: Nagbe, Pulisic, Johnson, Finlay, Hyndmann
FWD: Wood, Zardes, Morris

Players that with a quick club start that could have been called up:

Green, Zelelam, Kieswetter, CCV, Gil, Rubin, Payne, Gyau,

I want to see a bigger roster selection than 23 for the September WCQ.

I am going with a 27 man roster:

GK: Horvath, Guzan, Howard

D: Yedlin, Lichaj, Birnbaum, Cam, Brooks, Besler, Shea, Villafana

CM/DM: Bradley, Jones, Kitchen, Williams, Hyndman

CAM/RAM/LAM: Nagbe, Bedoya, Pulisic, Rubin, Manneh, Fabian

FWDS: Deuce, Jozy, Zardes, Wood, Morris,

**** Manneh may not have his citizenship yet, so I would replace him with Gyau if he is healthy or Green if that's the case.

Would people hate me if i keep throwing Quincy from san jose name? Big fan of his game and pressure and stamina. The guy is always on the opposing defense. btw not a san jose fan though. lol I mean we called wondo god knows how many times we cant do much worse. Also praying Gyau is back to Bundesliga level by then.

Love those call ups 2tone thats a "moving forward" kind of pool. Mixes youth and seniors.

Quincy reminds me of a Charlie Davies. I wanted him called in during his last season good run. I also wanted Lamar Neagle during his good run with Seattle. But im down for Quincy Time lol. Now he can be compared to some way in Bobby Wood. Not like JK said Wondo is a like for like replacement.

Well I repeatedly supported the idea of taking our best 23 for this Copa and I'm glad JK did. But now, I'm ready to move on, and take some small risks about starting to take players that we think may be in our best 23 in 2 years.

For fuck's sake Wondo and Beckerman have got to go. Castillo too. Jones is too good to leave off. I'd sacrifice Dempsey - I don't think he'll have much left in 2 years. But JK won't yet because he loves him. Always been one of the few fans of Zusi on here, but I guess I'm ready to let him go too.

So, we're only really talking about ~5 slots opening up in the next several months.

When looking towards the September Qualifiers there are a couple things that people need to remember....First we have to pick up at least 4 pts. to insure advancement into the Hex. Now I don't think this is a difficult task, but at the same time I'd expect JK and his staff to select a squad without many inexperienced or fringe players. Second thing to remember is that Bradley will be suspended for the 1st game against St. Vincent due to card accumulation. This doesn't present much of a problem but it will force JKs to make at least a mild adjustment.
I therefore expect that the September WCQ squad to basically be the 23 called for the Copa with only a couple of exceptions. I expect (Hope) that Wondo, Beckerman, Castillo & Orozco are replaced. These are the 4 players which IMO are the ones who contribute the least right now and towards the future.

Therefore the 23 I think we'll see will be something along the following:
Keepers: Guzan, Howard, Horvath
Defense: Yedlin, Johnson, Cameron, Brooks, Besler, Birnbaum, Chandler, Villafana
Midfield: Bradley, Jones, Bedoya, Nagbe, Zusi, Kitchen, Williams/Morales
Attack: Dempsey, Wood, Pulisic, Zardes, Morris/Jozy

It won't be until we get to the next friendly and/or January camp before we see some of the players that many of us would have hoped to see.....Lleget, Manneh, Acosta, Hyndman, Green, Kiesewetter, etc..as we have to pick up points and JK will have to be somewhat conservative in his selections.

If we're not going to acknowledge reality then there's no way I would leave off a version of Freddy Adu that actually lived up to the hype.

Guess you don't like creative attacking soccer and content with shit bunker ball !!!!!

How bad was Zardes in the final 3rd yesterday? Bradley is mediocre, been saying that for two years, Bedoya is basic.... can go on and on!

You see Manneh goal yesterday? Nobody on the US national team at the Copa America could've done that!

If you're trying to see players like Will trapp, Acosta, Kitchen, Polster, beckerman, zusi, wondo then expect us to not do shit against top teams!

For starters, you have the team managed by a guy who isn't the manager. If we're going to live in hypotheticals why not create a world whereby Technical Director Juergen convinces his old buddy Loew that he needs a new challenge and should join him in the US as manager? I mean that definitely isn't going to happen but since we're talking about a fictional world, it makes for a better fake storyline than Martinez.

Not to mention I already spelled out why Bobby Martinez would be a terrible choice to manage our team, and Blaise had no response.
