Here is my list of players that should be getting rotated into the depth chart the next two years:

Emerson Hyndman

Gedion Zelalem

Rubio Rubin

Joe Gyau

Jordan Morris

Sebastian Lletget

Kekutah Manneh

Villafana: Why is he getting snubbed at a position of need?

Paul Arriola

Lynden Gooch: who is highly rated at Sunderland. I expect to either see him loaned out to a Championship team this up coming season or possibly getting spot first team minutes with Sunderland.

Im just hopeful we can finally stop seeing Beckerman, Wondo, & Zusi on 23 man rosters.

When Zusi played in the 4-0 win over Guatemala I was worried that Jurgen would think he was part of the reason we won, not that they are a pathetic team that we could beat with an MLS team.

I'd say lets move on from Jones too. Let Dempsey get the scoring record and then start to phase him out (If he is still performing in beginning of 2018 we bring him back)

If Zelalem doesn't break the 18 or even the 23 (I feel he can) Hyndman is definitely getting run with Bornemouth and that means automatic inclusion to the US MNT fold.

Now all we need is a good year or so for Hyndman to get acclimated, unfortunately it's going to coincide with our qualification needs.

Even if we go with athleticism over tecnique and tactics it makes more sense to go young. I would really like to know what JK rationale is. Because we have to make changes, if not we're going to be trotting out the same roster for 18 as we did in 14.

I would also add to your list Miazga and CCV in the backline. Granted they play the same position, while I have never seen him play at the DM position, Tottenham has played him there with their reserve teams. CCV is one that could use a loan to get some first team minutes. Cameron is over 30, and we will need to look at finding a replacement there soon.

The only one I would take off your list is Lletget, granted he was played out of position against Toronto but he did not look good at all.

Some of those guys are starting or playing in big Euro leagues/teams. Yet they are garbage vs other regions other than concacaf. Heck some of them are U-20 and haven't played for the USMNT, but we know they are garbage against everyone except Concacaf? Some of them have barely even played against Concacaf competition. LOL.

I think we can build on Cam Brooks and Turnover Bradley. I would like for JK to do that. Then incorporate other players to the fold. Starting by identifying a proper LB.

Based on the performances we've seen during the Copa America it has become more and more clear where the holes are within the team...
1) We still lack the ability to truly control possession/tempo against good teams. To address this we need midfield players who can retain possession under pressure and hit accurate passes. Nagbe, Lleget, Hyndman, and Zelalem should assist with this as they grow into the team over the next 18 months.
2) Depth....we still lack quality depth across the field. In particular we need Outside Backs and Attackers. This is where we are the thinnest right now.
3) Jones & Dempsey still have a big role to play with this team. But how much longer can we count on them to contribute at this level? Expect their involvement to slowly be reduced over the next 18 months...

We have a number of promising players on the verge of breaking into the USMNT but they will need some time to gain the experience and chemistry they'll need to make any serious runs in these types of tournaments. They also need some things to break right on their club front....

Villafana, Miazga, Hyndman, Morris, Lleget, Payne, Manneh, & Rubin are likely the the nearest to advancing their game.
