Any updates on the appeal of Wood and Jones? Or is it not likely to happen, they were just rumors?

Bedoya is a hard-worker but unimpressive with the national team, maybe because he is not played in his natural position but he is much better when he is playing for Nantes. We need someone with more pace in that spot. I think him being suspended will not hurt us as much as the other two.

But I did like someone mentioning Kitchen playing instead of Beckerman but I think Klinsmann likes to play it safe and go with the known commodity but I think at this point, Kitchen has the better motor and offers more in the attack as well.

and we cant have kitchen start his first ever meaningful game tuesday against argentina when he hasnt played a minute all tournament. No if we start another defensive midfielder it will be beckerman. However it wouldnt make sense to start beckerman with bradley, since bradley shuold stay at defensive midflied

We have to attack. We cannot sit back for 90 minutes and just absorb pressure. We have to make Argentina respect us and stay on their toes. We need to have a staunch backline and be smart in possession and going forward yet be efficient on our chances.

You don't feel like Kitchen is ready for the moment? Who's fault is it that Kitchen hasn't played a minute in this tournament? Not his. I think he is ready. I think he has more to offer to the match than Beckerman.

Kitchen played in the Puerto Rico game and played poorly. Not saying that's a fair sample size, but he did have a chance to impress in the run-up and flubbed it.

I don't think anyone played well in that match.

Kitchen isn't a RM. I don't know why Danny Williams was playing DM and Kitchen RM in that game when Juergen selected Kitchen over Williams.

Perry Kitchen sucks, he should be nowhere near a national team roster..

Mistake not bringing in Danny Williamns (not sure if he's injured or not).

If he can't play well in another position against the likes of Puerto Rico, that doesn't say much for his long-term prospects of being in the team.

If somehow Howard can turn back the clock for one more match... If were going to beat argentina were going to need this kind of Keeper performance.

That's a ridiculous statement. We don't need to build a team of utility players.

You know my point wasn't that we need a team of utility players, it was that, if you're on the fringes of inclusion, as Kitchen is and should be, you have a better chance of getting picked if you can fill in effectively in more than one role. But why let that get in the way of an ad hominem.

If we need a player to fill in at wide midfield, it shouldn't be Kitchen. He's in the 23 as the backup to Beckerman and we have to believe that Klinsmann envisioned Beckerman as a starter when he selected his 23 based on the lineup who put out in the friendly against Ecuador. Backing up Beckerman as a DM is the right role for him, he isn't a flashy player but he's going to read the game well and provide coverage so that his teammates can take additional risk getting forward.

Given the lineup change to Bradley playing DM, it's unlikely that Kitchen will get playing time as the minutes that he could have played to spell Beckerman will instead go to Beckerman. I can't see any reason why he shouldn't be given a legitimate chance to be the replacement for Beckerman after this tournament.
