You gotta wonder and be excited on how MLS will be looked upon if the USMNT can make it to Semis by the South Americans. This is usually the reason why Liga MX is much better than us because they get the better south American players. I could see a massive change in the coming years, same effect that the World cup of 94 had for us helping us lift this game in the states, this Copa America, if we continue to show well will only help us grow our league as we continue to show how our players play and grow playing in MLS still do well in International Tournaments.

Really curious the potential players that can come this transfer window to the states. Player that play in Peruvian, Bolivian Ecuadorian, Paraguyan etc leagues that play with their national team, usually on low wages in the poorer countries.

Ventura Alvarado wants to join MLS. It may have been discussed elsewhere but I would like to see it.

Jzaval01 - There are sure to be a couple of players in this tournament who will join MLS clubs, but not as many as you may think. This tournament is heavily scouted and leagues in Europe are able to offer much higher wages than MLS. The top choice players will go there first than it becomes a bit of a battle between Liga MX and MLS for the lesser quality players.

of course i dont expect a mass of players to come this summer. Its more of an over time things. More south american players will be willing to come here that my point. Opens another door to improve the league or potentially improve the league.

Nicholas Lodeiro from Uruguay is rumored to be a Seattle target. Supposedly preliminary talks have taken place. Good player who I think can really help out with Seattlea lack of creativity in the midfield.

Maybe a few not many... Liga MX plays triple the average player than mls maybe more... Until the salary cap goes up signicantly I don't forsee many south Americans top players signing soon just the few DPs and all...

$$ will always hold MLS back, but it's certainly growing in quality and getting more respect and scouted more often.

Its on our side to increase $$$ but at least this performance opens doors. Shows South American managers and players that you can be international player while playing in MLS.

Will it? Ultimately it is up to the player but you still have plenty of managers like Dunga, the former Paraguay manager Diaz and others who will still doubt MLS. If a player feels like he is still national team material than the managers view of MLS has to change. I am not so sure Peckerman, Dunga, and others minds have changed all of a sudden but hopefully I am wrong and the US wins the entire tournament.

It can and will only help us cleancutimage. Peckerman called castillo the problem is being castillo was inconsistent. He has been for dallas this season, disappears in playoffs. Gruezo from dallas is a starter for Ecuador. Bolivia has a NASL player. Gio rejected Mexico call for whatever reason. Not all coaches think alike and that image will change for MLS over time.

I was really surprised Giovinco didn't called for the reason Conte gave- I only assume that was Conte's way of saying he wanted him to strive harder, Jürgen says similar things all the time but calls MLS players over foreign based ones. It's all perception anyway, and that reality can always change.

BWP was on the Planet Futbol podcast a few days ago and he said that he's still considering playing for Jamaica. He said that he didn't have his paperwork in order when Jamaica called and it's on him to sort it.

BWP could really enhance Jamaica but he needs to get himself sorted soon as Jamaica is in serious risk of missing the Hex.
