Great tournament from the U17 team. 15 goals scored, 2 allowed, against some quality opposition. Really excited about their potential with the WC on the horizon in 2017.

I think Tata Martino is gonna be the best thing to happen to Carleton. I'm so very excited about it. Right coach in a good situation. Bocanegra wont let us down as usmnt teams fans in his role as director either. I think Atlanta will be good and Carleton will be dangerous as a rookie playing in Martinos preferred manner with similar teammates stylistically.

Josh Sargent wasn't a name that I wad familiar with before this tournament. What's his story, is he aligned to a MLS academy?

Yea I was impressed with Sargent and Akinola. Akinola is with Toronto, Sargent isn't singed anywhere just playing club ball in Missouri. But interesting to see him starting ahead of a big name like Timothy Weah.

Carleton was also very good but he tries a lot of high risk things that I'm not sure a new coach for a brand new MLS team will like... like we've said before it will be very interesting to see what kind of playing time this young player will get.

His coach is tata martino

Gerardo Martino prefers to play a very high pressing and an attacking style of football. At Barcelona, Martino continued the club's preferred style of play tiki-taka along with his own tactics. All of Martino's teams have the same distinguishable traits: they play attack-minded football, they are creative and the style is based on quick passing. In addition, Martino's teams also pressure high up the pitch, play out from the back and depend on their youth systems.[18]

if Tata gets fired, then yea that will suck... on that note.. best 11 fox sports put out 11 best players of 2016, sasha k and hedges only to USA players on that list. Everyone else is a foreigner.

Yeah I wonder what PSG thought about a player who is not even in the USL playing ahead of one of their top prospects and shinning. Wonder if that was not in the agreement to let him come over, he can train but limited minutes to prevent an injury. Whatever it was good for Sergeant to take advantage of it.

It probably did not change their opinion of Weah, but this showing certainly will give Sergeant options. Let's hope he chooses wisely.

Atlanta also brought in Miguel Almiron from Paraguay. He is a 22yr old attacking midfielder. Already part of Paraguayan national team. Atlanta paid 8-12 million for him. Thats the kind of signing MLS needs to make, young emerging studs.

Atlanta is stockpiling their offensive firepower. Almiron, Carleton, Kenwyne Jones, Brandon Vasquez (U19 US guy from Tijuana), Villalba (22yr old Argeninian winger).

They have no defenders as of yet (they literally haze zero defenders announced to be on their first team at this time) so perhaps they will use MLS lifers from expansion draft to fill that role (smart idea). Im hoping Tata plays an aggressive style and we get a lot of 4-3, 5-4 games when Atlanta is involved.

I wonder if Tata is going to prioritize international competition too. That would indicate that getting surplus in talent is going to be used accordingly.... and her'es the thing.. it should come cheap rgiht?

Yes, fantastic signing of a top tier talent. Great sign for the league, hopefully LA Galaxy follows their lead with their open DP slots...

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
