He plays really good at that RW spot for gladbach to bad we got no LB if not we could have pulisic and fabian in the wings.

This would be my line up v Mexico

-- Wood - Altidore --
Pulisic-- kljestan -- Fabian-
---- Bradley -----
??? -- Brooks - Cameron - Yedlin -
------- Howard ---
Since our LB situation is so scarce I wouldn't mind bringing back Beasley just for this game after all he has probably been the most consistent lb in mls. I would be nervous throwing in a young inexperience player like Acosta for a big game like this. To bad villafana hasn't gotten a look even Torres has a lot of LB experience for tigres.

Bit concerned that brooks has this constant injuries. thoughts?

I'm not overly concerned about Brooks at this time. Muscle injuries have a tendency to flair up/return if they are not properly rehabbed. Brooks was called up for the Sept. Qualifiers, but upon evaluation was sent home due to the issue. Unfortunately his club played him in the next game (likely too soon) and he aggravated the issue. If Hertha is willing to take the time to allow the issue to resolve he should be able to return to the dominant presence that he was during the Copa before the crucial November qualifiers.

Now if the same muscle becomes recurring issue over the next month or again later in the season, than I'll become more concerned.

Yea if he tears something like Gooch did against Costa Rica, that's the nail in the coffin.

Kiesewetter 1st goal for Fortuna Dusseldorf: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2IRAat4178

Made it look easy. 1. Bundesliga material?

Wooten's goal today as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4Izxrs7kH0

Poor quality but the best I could find, for now.

Kiesewetter has always been an interesting player for me. He & Agudelo have a fairly unique skill set within the US player pool. They have the size & strength to play physically, but also have a good measure of creativity and quick feet allowing them to play technically. Add in their speed & crossing ability and they are versatile enough to play as strikers or wide attacking midfielders.
I keep holding out hope for both of these guys to raise their level of play at the club level to warrant their being included with the other young players who are looking like real contributors to the USMNT.

Yeah but is he 1. Bundesliga material? Is he at worst a bench player who makes many sub appearances throughout a season with an occasional start here and there? If not, he is probably where he needs to be then.

It's hard to say where Kiesewetter and/or Agudelo deserve to be in the US player pool at this time. Kiesewetter joined a new club over the summer that has a significant veteran presence at his position. I expect it to take him a bit of time before he can integrate and consistently show what he brings to the table. Agudelo is another player who has had difficulty proving he can be consistent. He started the season well, than was sidelined with an injury, before starting to shine down the stretch run.

The good news is that they are both young enough that they can improve and make a run up the USMNT depth chart. Especially when you consider that many of their competitors are aging out (Wondo & Duce) and/or have had significant injury concerns (Dempsey, Jozy, Johannsson, Boyd). October & January will be important for these guys to prove themselves.

If Zusi and Bedoya can be regulars for the U.S. national team, the bar can't be that high lol

"Clint.. it's ok to smile right?"

"no."

But seriously when I hear people talk about Fabians offensive characteristics and why we should play him at wing to get productivity I think about this. This is before the world cup when we were buzzing and Bradley was spinning around like a 10, OMG HE LOOKS LIKE THE EXACT SAME PLAYER IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT IN THE FIELD I THOUGHT HE WAS OUT OF POSITION!!!
