I would replace Yedlin with Chandler, Yedlin game was piss poor and Ecuador was attacking him through out the first half

Huh? I guess we watched two different games. And he defended throughout the first half. Putting out multiple fires.

Given the level of competition we'll face in our group if we're going to play a 4-3-3 I think it should be an asymmetrical attack with a more defensive oriented player on one side.

I'd put Bedoya on the right but that would make Dempsey a super sub.

Yeah, but I don't think JK will not start Dempsey.

Yedlin had a good game, if not for some bad touches and three guys all thinking one pass was for them he may have had two or three assists. Plus he had some vital clearances and won some quality battles. The price for Sunderland to buy him is going to be increasing.

I also thought Birnbaum played a solid second half after a shaky first one. Enough to start against Bolivia maybe not but would like to see another shot for him in the starting line up. I would go with a line up of

Wood
Pulisic. Nagbe. Deuce
Bradley. Jones
Yedlin Birnbaum brooks Johnson

I agree, Pulisic is the most likely of the three to come off the bench but I couldn't bring myself to saying it.

My choice

Pulisic----wood----Bedoya
----Nagbe-dempsey
-------bradley
Johnson-Brooks-Cam-Yedlin
---------Guzan

dempsey and bedoya interchanging.
zusi coming in for either dempsey bedoya or pulisic (who ever is tired)
trying out chandler on the lb spot so we can move johnson forward would be great

Doubt we need to start dempsey. Why? We know what the duece brings, we need to keep him fresh for the colombia match. Bolivia is a weakest team in conmebol no point in starting dempsey imo. I would start wood, maybe give pulisic a run. Give kitchen, besler and wondo a run. I would bench bradley or jones just to not exhaust these guys out. Personally would love to give kitchen a run at cdm. As much as i hate to say it give zardes another chance.

Pulisic -- wood -- Zardes
Bradley -nagbe
Kitchen
Chandler-besler,birmbaum-yedlin

I think something like this give other players a chance to prove something. Then 2nd half you can put jones, and put bradley as cdm, etc etc kind of subs.

Key thing is not to get injured.

As long as Dempsey is still starting need to leave fab at lb. in a 4-3-3 for winger we have wood,Dempsey, bedoya, pulisic. Add fab and only one of wood, cp, and bedoya start. Once Dempsey moves into the super sub role then I could see fab pushing back up but until then I'm all for keeping fab at lb. especially since it keeps guys like orozco and chandler out of the lineup.

I now understand why nguyen and nagbe didn't get the love

because that means you would have to bench jones and bradley, or one of the two, or play nagbe out of position, which i know haha, so what with jk right?

two established commodities, safe picks you know what you're going to get, in the hopes that those other two will come through on creativity that you do not know they can produce in the face of greater talent.

I'm not saying i agree with JK. But that has to explain it. I think he's warming up to benching someone for Nagbe at this point.

I like 2tone's lineup. Mine exact one almost except I put Wood out wide and Dempsey central. I put Bedoya in for Jones (personal preference with Yedlin at RB).

I just think Bedoya pairs better with Yedlin. He doesn't get as frustrated with him roaming forward and has no problem sitting back when Yedlin runs forward. Jones has never been and never will be ok with sitting back. He always wants to be involved with the attack. Which would be fine if we had someone like Cameron at RB.

I would like to see Morris right now and have a front 3 of Pulisic-Wood-Morris with Nagbe-Bradley-Bedoya behind them. With Yedlin and FabJo getting into the attack from the fullback position. Gets our best players into the positions they are most comfortable with.

I want to say no to bedoya, but honestly he helped make that play with Yedlin, and maybe he can be the free lancer of the three. Nagbe is very responsible in his movements.

Yep. Do we really think Dempsey is a winger at this stage? That's an obvious no to me...but I could be wrong
