Karl Ouimette had to be carted off the field in NYRB II's game against Pittsburgh after Romeo Parkes kicked him in the back as he was walking off the pitch (Ouimette had just been red carded). I would ban Parkes for life for this but at a minimum he should be suspended for the rest of the season. The video is disturbing.

Not just banned for life but he should go to prison for Assault and it could very well be an assault with a deadly weapon charge with those spiked cleats.

It was bad but people need to not jump to conclusions. Jail? Gimme a break. It's a sporting event. Is this any different then the hundreds of times players sucker punch other players? It may be slightly worse but I'd say it's in the ballpark. I'd agree that a rest of season suspension is probably worth it. I'd go with 20 games (even number).

FYI he's on Jamaicas copa roster. Wonder what happens there.

Not just prison, he should be burned at the stake. Or stoned to death. Throw him in the chair. Throw him off a really tall bridge. Send him out into space without a suit and let him go.

Rest of season max. 10 games maybe. It was bad, but not criminal bad IMO. Wasn't a flying dropkick. . .

Your an idiot.. What if the guy is seriously injured and could never play soccer again he should file criminal charges against him. I seen people go to jail for way less than that specially domestic cases.

If this happened, it sounds like Ouimette will be fine, then he could file a civil suit for lost wages. There have been many more horrendous incidents (go to youtube and search izzy alcantara kicks catcher or todd bertuzzi sucker punch)

Also lets not forget that Ouimette was just issued a red card for his play so its not like he was some innocent bystander. He did not deserve a kick to the back but lets not pretend he was just minding his own business.

Not deserving a kick in the back doesn't mean he didn't deserve a punch in the face...you'll notice the kick only comes immediately after he turned his head to say something to Parkes; if it comes out that whatever he said was hatespeech, a case could be made for a "crime of passion". The video would do a lot to support that case, his facial expressions and demeanor immediately before that did not indicate he was overly upset or was waiting for his moment to strike.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
