You guys must not watch much club soccer because Messi is the best under pressure out of any of the big players. He always plays his lights out in Barcelona's biggest games and rarely (if ever) chokes. Yeah, he struggles when playing for Argentina, but so does the rest of the team. And he played well today, he just missed one penalty. I feel so bad for him, they deserved to win at least one of these two Copa finals. He wants to win for Argentina so badly and they just have such poor luck...to lose three finals in a row like this is remarkable.

I think everyone knows messi and his play in Barcelona. But that Argentine team are chokers and that starts with Higuian. 3 clear 1v1 against the keeper misses. Di maria always injured for the finals it seems. Chile a more complete team, i think i heard alot played together in their u20s day. Messi cant carry Argentina they dont help him and the bad luck apart.

Higuain has now missed 3 golden chances to score a goal for argentina in 3 straight finals. Messi deserves crap but Higuain and the coach of argentina should get more shit. Martino for his lineup choices and waiting so long to put lamela in the game as a sub. Last year Martino played conservative and paid for it this year same thing. Aguero and Messi were the only guys with any pace on the field for argentina.

Argentina was getting countered to death as neither mercado nor rojo or funes mori had any pace to deal with chiles wingers or attacking fullbacks. Argentina had no wingers other then di mario who they subbed off and just played straight up the middle the whole game. Martino deserves 75 percent of the blame higuain 15 and messi 10. Messi was getting murdered on almost every play and getting zero help from his teammates. Plus its not a coincedence that martino failed at barca and failed at Argentina. He was good at paraguay but he cant handle a team that talented. People give klinsmann crap but holy crap that was one of the worst coaching performances I have ever seen. Chile coach completely owned him the entire game on every tactical sub and decision.

Mascherano saying he is retiring as well. Interesting times for Argentina if those two actually retire.

Aguero is another that is pondering retirement. Mascherano would probably be a bigger loss than messi he is the heart and soul of the team specially their defense.

Lavezzi, Higuain, Biglia, Di Maria as well. Holy hell! Argentina could be screwed if this actually happens.

Maradonna their God, did say to not come back home if they didn't win the Copa. Looks like the players are heeding that.

If these Argentina players are serious (I doubt it) then they will plummet and not qualify for the World Cup as you cant lose that many top guys, mid cycle, this early in their primes. I do think its a combination of pissed at that piss poor refereeing job, choking in pks, and being pissed at their federation in general. I bet they skip September qualies and then come back to the senior team

If he quits, he's a little bitch. What message is he giving to all his fans? His country? He will probably be the greatest ever, but will not deserve to be there. Tax evader. 2 golden balls should be Iniestas'! Human growth hormones taking a toll on his mentality? Wearing him out? As kids we dream of playing for our national teams. Not club glory. I was ready to jot him down as the best athlete ever, but i dont think no one will take that title from Air Jordan.. CR7 would never quit.. I could see him retire from football completely by 31 at this rate.

Well CR7 probably would quit. He's a bigger bitch. The dwarf will be back. And I do still think he should be banned from sports for taking HGH. If I took HGH I'd probably be in the NFL.
